The invading alien masses of V have found their fearless leader and she is a looker! The Hollywood Reporter that Morena Baccarin to play the leader of the Visitors, who are hellbent on ruling the human race. Baccarin is probably best known for her role as Inara Serra in Joss Whedon’s Firefly and Serenity.

V is a “re-imagining” of the 1980s miniseries of the same name. It takes place in the none-too-distant future, when aliens rule humanity. The updated series will center around a yet-to-be-announced female Homeland Security agent.

Morris Chestnut has already been tapped to play the female lead’s boyfriend and Scott Wolf (Party of Five) will play the role of a TV newscaster newscaster who becomes a propaganda tool for The Visitors.

The 4400’s creator Scott Peters has written the pilot script for the reboot and will executive produce along with Jason Hall. The new V centers on a female Homeland Security agent, dealing with the arrival of a race of aliens.
