This Halloween season, buckle your seat belts for a terrifying ride into Dark Country, the new horror thriller from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. The film marks the directorial debut of Thomas Jane and will hit DVD October 6, 2009. You can heck out the trailer below.

A nail-biting suspense film in the vein of Lost Highway and The Twilight Zone, Dark Country stars Thomas Jane, headliner of HBO’s hit series “Hung” and The Punisher. Jane also makes his directorial debut with this tense thriller, which recalls the film noir classics but injected with the turbo charged thrills modern audiences have come to love from the horror genre.

Two honeymooners rescue a mysterious car crash survivor in the Las Vegas desert. But their decision to save the man becomes increasingly regrettable when he turns on them, forcing the newlyweds to do the unthinkable. In a blur of paranormal chaos, the couple must take drastic measures to cover up their actions from the local police, ultimately leading each character to an inescapable fate.
Dark Country was produced by Ashok Amritraj (Premonition, Walking Tall) and Patrick Aiello in conjunction with Sony’s Stage 6 Films. Dark Country has a run time of approximately 88 minutes and has been rated R for some violence, bloody images, language and sexuality.
