Earlier this year, Nu Image/Millennium Films officially announced that Sylvester Stallone’s fifth Rambo film had been greenlit. Stallone will return to the franchise to play the title character and direct the film. Stallone had previously hinted that the next Rambo adventure would see the hero take on a “slightly different genre.” The working title for the film is Rambo V: The Savage Hunt.

Now, some new information on the film has surfaced, straight from Sly Stallone himself. The legendary action hero contacted the good folks over STALLONEZONE via email  to discuss the status:

To all the loyal SZoners out there,

I’m letting you know that Rambo has changed course and the story about hunting the man/beast will be done using another character in the lead. RAMBO himself will be heading over the border to a violent city where many young women have vanished.

There will be blood.
