I’m curious how this one is going to pan out. I had heard about two years ago that some producers were trying to get The Rock to portray Conan.
I really don’t get the whole ‘Remake the movie every 20-30 Years’ thing. Should we find a new band to record Pink Floyd’s ‘The Wall, or another author to re-write ‘Interview With A Vampire’? The original Conan movie was great as it was. The casting was damn near perfect. You can’t replace James Earl Jones portrayal as Thulsa Doom. Arnold had the perfect physique for the role. His accent didn’t hurt him as he was playing a character that was completely not of this time. Not to m ention, you can’t replace Gerry Lopez acting. He was perfect as Subotai. Don’t even get me started on Mako.
I guess the whole ‘Do what worked before’ is all that Hollywood can come up with. I guess I should accept that. It’s sad.
Conan is not skinny. What were they thinking.
Hey Hollywood, enough with the remakes! Also, there’s not a picture out there that portrays Conan with a runners build. You still need the “Alpha-male” in roles like this. Sounds like this remake has “DVD release only” written all over it.
