Review: TNA Wrestling’s ‘Fandimonium: Beer Money / Motor City Machine Guns’ DVD

The first half of 2010 has certainly served as an exciting time for fans of professional wrestling. As a fan of the sport, no one has been making a bigger splash then the people at TNA Wrestling. The company really began to turn some heads in early 2010 when they brought in Hulk Hogan, one of the world’s biggest pop culture icons and still the biggest superstar in professional wrestling, to the organization. Since that re-launch, TNA has been moving at a lightning quick pace and seems to be breathing some much needed life back into the industry. What’s in a name? TNA stands for Total Nonstop Action — and that is exactly what the company delivers!

TNA Wrestling’s latest DVD offering is no exception to that rule. “Fandimonium – Beer Money / Motor City Machine Guns” is a double disc set that focuses on two of professional wrestling’s hottest commodities. Disc One features the electrifying, multi-time World Tag Team Champions Beer Money, Inc., which is composed of Robert Roode and James Storm. Disc Two features the in-ring talents of Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley, a dynamic duo known as the Motor City Machineguns. Both discs feature the very best of what these performers have to offer (see a full list of the matches below).

TNA’s previous DVD offerings have never been a letdown as they offer high intensity performances from the company’s biggest stars in a package not chock full of filler just to fill a disc to generate revenue. The package provides the viewer with nearly six hours of footage and definitely gives you plenty of bang for your hard earned buck! The only thing that a fan might argue missing from in “Fandimonium” is a documentary style look at both of the tag teams involved or perhaps a look at their lives outside the ring. What has always stood out for me as a wrestling fan is the excellent job that TNA does in providing a great jumping off point for new fans, all while providing a satisfying product for the die-hards. This release really showcases the blood, sweat and tears that these icons of the ring have oozed in recent years and marks a true milestone in their careers. Having followed both tag teams for quite some time, it is exciting to see them get the recognition that they so greatly deserve as the company continues to evolve and grow.

Over the past few months, TNA Wrestling has shown that they aren’t afraid to experiment, take risks or the bumps that you must take along the way. This is part of what keeps many of us tuning in each week. The second part of that equation is that TNA has some truly great talent in their ranks and the hard work of Beer Money Inc. and Motor City Machineguns will continue to solidify the company’s foundation in the future.
