The daily 30-minute show will be led by Fuse News anchors Alexa Chung and Matte Babel, who will work with senior contributing correspondents Jack Osbourne, Elaine Moran, and Liz Walaszczyk to provide today‟s most comprehensive coverage of the music industry. Rick Kaplan, producing consultant/senior executive producer of Fuse News, has won countless awards for his work in broadcast journalism, including 47 Emmys. With a career spanning over 40 years, Kaplan has worked for the biggest names in news including CBS, ABC, CNN and MSNBC. He developed Fuse‟s flagship music news program, and has appointed Emmy Award-winning producer Audrey Gruber to serve as senior executive/senior producer of the show. A 15-year veteran of the broadcast news industry, Gruber has worked for CBS, ABC and CNN, most recently serving as senior producer at CBS‟ The Early Show.

RICK KAPLAN

Producing Consultant/Senior Executive Producer, Fuse News

An esteemed name in the world of broadcast journalism, Rick Kaplan is producing consultant/senior executive producer forFuse News. Kaplan has worked for the biggest names in news including CBS, ABC, CNN and MSNBC. Kaplan began his career in 1969 at CBS‟s Chicago affiliate WBBM-TV before joining CBS News where he first served as associate producer of the CBS Morning News, followed by associate producer of CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite. In 1979, Kaplan joined ABC News where he began as senior producer for World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, before being named executive producer of ABC News Nightline, and then returning to World News Tonight with Peter Jennings as executive producer. Kaplan then moved to CNN-US in 1997 where he served as president of the network. In 2003, he returned to ABC News as senior vice president, until leaving in 2004 to become president of MSNBC, where he focused on creating new programming,and improving existing programsIn 2007, Kaplan returned to CBS, taking on the role of executive producer of the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. Kaplan then joined ABC News as executive producer of This Week with Christiane Amanpour, where he supervised all ABC News political coverage including the 2012 election. In the summer of 2012, Kaplan launched Kaplan Media Partners, a consulting venture focused on news and entertainment programs, for which, in addition to Fuse, his client list includes Aaron Sorkin‟s HBO series, The Newsroom. Rick Kaplan has been the recipient of countless awards, most notably 47 Emmy Awards, four Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Awards and three Peabody Awards.

 

AUDREY GRUBER

Senior Executive/Senior Producer, Fuse News

Audrey Gruber serves as senior executive/senior producer of Fuse News. Gruber began her career at CBS as an assistant producer, moving up to associate producer and ultimately producer on a variety of programming including CBS This Morning, 48 Hours, Evening News and CBS News Productions: Biography This Week. In 1999, Gruber moved to ABC‟s 20/20as a producer, developing and producing cutting-edge investigative and consumer stories, including numerous high-profile music stories. In 2004 and 2005, she produced the season 2 and 3 live finales of NBC‟s The Apprentice. In 2005, Gruber moved to CNN where she produced packages for programming including I-Report Caught on Tape (senior producer), Anderson Cooper 360 and the Paula Zahn Show. In 2008, Gruber returned to CBS as a producer at The Early Show. She would later be named supervising producer and then senior producer at The Early Show. While at The Early Show, Gruber produced the highest rated programming on the show and created branding across multiple platforms. Gruber has been the recipient of several awards including two Emmy Awards and a Peabody Award.

 

ALEXA CHUNG

Anchor, Fuse News

Alexa Chung is a television personality, model and writer. Prior to Fuse News, Alexa hosted several television programs including Lifetime‟s 24 Hour Catwalk, as well as her variety talk show It’s On with Alexa Chung on MTV. In addition, Chung co-hosted NBC‟s “2011 Golden Globes Arrivals Special” alongside Carson Daly and Natalie Morales. Hailing from England, Chung hosted several high profile programs in the U.K. before moving stateside, including Gonzo on MTV UK, Popworld,Frock MeFashion Fix and Freshly Squeezed. Chung has received many fashion accolades, including the prestigious, public-voted, British Style Award for the past three years running (since inception). Named one of Harper Bazaar UK‟s 2011 Best Dressed of Britain and Vogue‟s 2010 Most Stylish Women of the Year, Chung is also a global style icon and trendsetter. British brand, Mulberry, named a bag after her called the „Alexa‟ in 2010 which attracted a waiting list of 9,000 and helped the company post record profits. Having designed two sold-out collections for Madewell, she was recently anointed Young Style Ambassador for the British Fashion Council. Anna Wintour has described Chung as “a phenomenon” while the New York Times has declared her “the Kate Moss of the new generation.” Karl Lagerfeld has described her as “beautiful and clever…a modern girl.” Chung has written for the UK newspaper The Independent and since 2009, she has been a contributing editor to British Vogue and has interviewed designers such as Lagerfeld and Christopher Kane for the publication, as well as provided her own original features. Also an avid music fan and occasional DJ, Chung presented at the 2011 iTunes Festival for ITV2.

 

MATTE BABEL

Anchor, Fuse News

Matte Babel joined Fuse in the fall of 2012 and has already interviewed some of the biggest names in music including Missy Elliot, Nicki Minaj and Bruno Mars for segments that have run across Fuse‟s multiple platforms. Born in Toronto, Canada, Babel began his career at MuchMusic hosting Much on Demand, a live, national daily music and entertainment program recognized as home to a variety of A-list celebrities. While at MuchMusic, Babel also hosted an array of special programs such as LIVE@MUCHExposedLive EarthMy Date With… and The MuchMusic Video Awards. In 2009, Babel was recruited to CP24, a 24-hour Canadian news channel where he co-hosted the launch of CP24 Breakfast, a live three-hour morning show that reaches over one million different viewers each week. Most recently, Babel served as an LA correspondent forEntertainment Tonight Canada, a contributor on Entertainment Tonight, and was the host of Canada Sings, a primetime national talent competition on Global Television, a Canadian network.

 

JACK OSBOURNE

Senior Contributing Correspondent, Fuse News

Jack Osbourne is no stranger to the small screen. He recently hosted Haunted Highway on the SyFy channel and his production company, Schweet Entertainment is currently producing a 16-episode TV docu-series for National Geographic called Alpha Dogs. In the U.K., Osbourne appeared on the hit reality TV show Adrenaline Junkie, traveling the world to conquer the most challenging sports. Last year, Osbourne took on producer and director roles, producing a documentary about his father, God Bless Ozzy Osbourne and directing a music video for Ozzy‟s song, “Life Won‟t Wait.” Osbourne also released his autobiography in 2007 titled 21 Years Gone.

ELAINE MORAN

Senior Contributing Correspondent, Fuse News

Elaine Moran joined Fuse in 2011 to host a variety of shows on Fuse‟s YouTube channel (YouTube.com/Fuse). In addition toFuse News, she can regularly be seen co-hosting Fuse‟s Trending 10, a daily countdown dedicated to the top ten trending music stories on social media. Throughout her time at Fuse she has sat down with a variety of top artists for content across the network‟s multiple platforms including linear and digital pieces, for interviews with The Killers, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Andrew W.K., Ed Sheeran and Nelly Furtado. Prior to Fuse, she was a writer/producer at Gawker TV. Moran studied acting and vocal performance at Lawrence University, The New School for Drama in NYC, and The Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin, Ireland. She has performed in New York City with Project Opera Manhattan, The Cell Theatre, The National Comedy Theatre, Manhattan Children’s Theater, At Hand Theater Company and MTV.

 

LIZ WALASZCZYK

Senior Editorial Producer and Contributing Correspondent, Fuse News

Liz Walaszczyk is senior editorial producer and contributing correspondent for Fuse News. Before joining Fuse News, Walaszczyk was a head talent producer at NBC Universal where she worked on the late-night talk show Last Call with Carson Daly. In addition, she worked on NBC’s New Year’s Eve in Times Square (‟10-‟12), which featured performances by Drake, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Jay Z and Rihanna. Walaszczyk is signed with Elite models and began her television career by joining the production team at Fashion File, one of the world‟s most respected fashion television programs. She was also part of the team that launched Entertainment Tonight in Canada where she produced entertainment news stories, covered red carpet and fashion events, and interviewed a variety of personalities. Following Entertainment Tonight Canada, she spent four years working at The CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) at the award-winning Canadian late-night talk show The Hour. Most recently, Walaszczyk traveled the world to host and produce a documentary entitled The Together Tour, which showcased the cultural differences of the most popular music festivals internationally.
