Sick Puppies Earn Career High Chart Debut, Add Additional Dates To “The Connect Tour”

sick-puppies-2013

Connect, the third and most successfully ambitious album from Capitol Records / Drilldown recording artists Sick Puppies, hit # 17 in the week following its July 16, 2013 debut, making it the best debut by the band in their career. GuitarWorld.com praised Connect’s “Solid radio-ready hits” and “top notch writing and musicianship”, while The Inland Empire Weekly raved that “Connect both nostalgically remembers its past and embraces the future.” As guitarist/vocalist Shim Moore notes, “Connect is the best step to follow after the first two albums Dressed Up As Life (2007) and Tri-Polar (2009). It’s an amalgamation of all into one, which is why I think it’s our best record.”

Fans agree, recently catapulting the official Sick Puppies Facebook page to more than 1 million views! Those fans—new and old—are turning out in droves since the Australian-bred, L.A.-based trio kicked off The Connect Tour on July 16. Devotees packed the band’s in-store/acoustic performances at Best Buy locations on the first six dates of the tour, which kicked off July 16 in Omaha, Nebraska. Connect’s stellar success finds the band adding more tour dates (new dates in bold below) that so far stretch until October.

The CD’s first single, “There’s No Going Back,” hit Top 10 on the rock chart and is currently sitting at No. 9 on the Billboard Active Rock chart and No. 26 on the Billboard Alternative chart.

Connect follows up Tri-Polar, which sold nearly a half-million units and two million single downloads and contains the #1 Rock track “You’re Going Down,”, Top Five active rock hit “Riptide”, the Top Ten Modern Rock/Active Rock hit “Odd One” and the cross-format anthemic smash, “Maybe.” The 12 songs on Connect, which feature more vocal input from bassist/co-founder Emma Anzai, pack a powerful punch, as Moore concludes: Everyone who liked Sick Puppies up to this point are going to be more than happy, and new fans will be excited to discover us at this point in our careers.”
