The multi-platinum certified rock act Everclear has signed on with Brooklyn based indie label The End Records/ADA for their ninth studio album, Black Is The New Black.
Scheduled for release in spring 2015, frontman Art Alexakis had this to say about the group’s new home and the forthcoming album – “We are really excited to be on The End Records. There is such a buzz of enthusiasm there for our new album, Black Is The New Black. It’s an unapologetic rock record that I feel combines the best of classic Everclear with contemporary production and what I feel is some of my best songwriting in years!”
For over two decades, Everclear’s sound has reflected the rock, post-punk, and singer/songwriter influences of Alexakis, including acts like X, the Replacements, the Pixies, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, and Elvis Costello. The band found success with their first three albums on Capitol Records, Sparkle and Fade, So Much for the Afterglow, and Songs from an American Movie Vol. One: Learning How to Smile, which were all certified platinum.
Fans can catch Alexakis, vocalist and guitarist of Everclear, as the artist journeys westward on his solo North American tour, “Songs & Stories – An Evening with Art Alexakis of Everclear”, which wraps up December 17th at The Roxy Theater in West Hollywood.
With attendance, each fan will receive a download card to immediately receive an advance copy of the first single, “The Man Who Broke His Own Heart”, off Black Is The New Black! The single won’t officially be released until early 2015.
