Science-fiction fans all around the globe will be ecstatic when they hear this news; Casper Van Dien (‘Starship Troopers,’ ‘The Legend of Sleepy Hollow’) is gracing the big screen in a new inter-galactic movie. The film industry will get its first peek at the highly anticipated, “Star Raiders: The Adventures of Saber Raine” (Uptown 6) at the American Film Market (AFM) 2015.
Van Dien’s character, Saber Raine, is an inter-galactic gun for hire. He must guide three elite soldiers on a rescue mission to find the Aresian prince and princess, kidnapped from their home planet. Saber and his allies travel deep into uncharted space and battle leech-like desert marauders, renegade mercenaries and alien outcasts. All the while, Sinjin, a sinister overlord freed from a cryogenic chamber plots his revenge.
“Star Raiders” will be featured on the first two days of AFM, Nov. 4 at 11 am and Nov. 5 at 1 pm at Fairmont 1, located at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel (Santa Monica, CA).
“The role of Saber Raine was absolutely meant for Casper Van Dien,” says producer, Adam Lipsius. “His humor and ability to do his own stunts make him the Indiana Jones of inter-galactic space.”
Star Raiders boasts a stellar production team. The movie is the screen debut of comic book master (Iron Man, Bat Man, Green Arrow) Mike Grell, and features martial arts legends Cynthia Rothrock and James Lew.
