Saints and Sinners is the directorial debut of William Kaufman which focuses on the crime ridden, post-Katrina New Orleans where life on the streets is brutal and the guys at the top are finding all new ways to exploit the decaying city. Rumors have been swirling for weeks in regards to the possibility of legendary action star Bruce Willis joining the cast of Sylvester Stallone’s highly anticipated action flick, ‘The Expendables.’ Today fans can stop wondering! MTV has confirmed that Willis will indeed be shooting a cameo for the film!

Willis said that the he will soon join Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger to shoot a very special scene for the flick. On the cameo, Willis said “I don’t know anything about [my character] yet, haven’t seen any pages yet, but I’m excited about it.”

Willis confirmed to us that the scene will involved himself, Arnold and Sly together on camera. “That’s the concept,” he said with a grin. “That’s the plan.”

Timed to coincide with the cinematic release “Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day,” writer/director Troy Duffy is working with 12 Gauge Comics on a comic tie-in project. The original cult hit movie followed brothers Connor and Murphy MacManus, who take it upon themselves to clean up the streets of Boston, ridding their hometown of crime as local vigilantes. The film sequel does not yet have a firm release date, but upon its release, the series will follow.

Comic Book Resources recently caught up with Duffy, comic series co-writer Jason Love, 12-Gauge publisher Keven Gardner, and Eben Matthews, the series producer, to discuss the comic. Read the full interview here >

Duffy said that the comic will flesh out the fan-favorite character of Il Duce, the brothers’ father played by Billy Connolly, in even greater depth than what will be seen in the cinematic sequel. “There was so much interest about that guy and how he became a killer,” Duffy told CBR. “The character was one of those characters that comes in in the last 10 minutes and blows the plot wide open, but he was not in there throughout the film, so I wouldn’t have expected so much interest in him. I had to address it, because fans of ‘Boondock’ were just too interested in this guy and how he became a killer, and why he was where he was, and everything about him.”

Readers will see, among other things, the circumstances behind Il Duce’s first kill. “Some very personal things happen to him that’s sort of his impetus to begin killing,” Duffy said. “But then there’s another person involved, and it becomes much more than just ‘one kill for revenge.’”

A little more news on Sylvester Stallone’s The Expendables has surfaced. According to the official blog of the film, the film has 3 more weeks of shooting left. They have also offered a few behind-the-scenes photos of one of the sets and some great info on the characters that the star-studded cast are developing. The latest blog post reads:

The Expendables

“I went a little rogue last night… part of my job is to make sure no one takes photos on set other than the unit photographer. when we are shooting in a public place it’s impossible but on stage or on the back lot at the Louisiana Film Studios you must obey my authoritay!! With over 70 extras it’s not an easy task but I make best effort. Last night I broke my own rule – I took photos on the set. I had to – it is such an impressive set. We are shooting the battle scenes that take place in the courtyard of General Garza’s (DAVID ZAYAS) palace. So I am posting a couple of shots I took with the IPhone I hate…

We have 3 more weeks of shooting left – the majority of which will include all of the guys. One thing I love about Sly’s scripts is that no matter how many heads roll (literally) there’s always an element of humor. Who knew that Jet Li and Seve Austin were funny?? Actually Steve makes me laugh more than anyone on set. He’s a totally anchored to the earth living on a ranch in South Texas kind of guy with a big body and a bigger heart. And a sassy sense of humor. Even when Sly and he are beating the bejesus out of each other.

To while away the hours during night shoots I began doing little impromptu interviews with the guys in between setups. GIves me a chance to get some quotes and find out how they see their characters while giving me a little glimpse into who they are as people. Barney Ross (SLY) is the sage and strategist of the team. Lee Christmas (JASON STATHAM) is former SAS and a savant with anything with a blade. Toll Road (RANDY COUTURE) is the intellect of the group, a skilled and deadly demolitions expert. Hale Caesar (TERRY CREWS) is a long barrel specialist who has been friends with Barney for over 10 years. Ying Yang (JET LI) is a master at close quarters combat, who because of his size is the brunt of jokes from the bigger guys. But they all know he can be as deadly with a kick as they are with traditional weapons. Gunnar (DOLPH LUNDGREN) is a combat veteran and an expert at precision sniping. He’s also the problem child of the group.

No news on Church. Oh and the guy who said my blog is poorly written…piss off!!”
