Believe it or not, ‘Say Anything’ hit theaters 35 years ago today! 🍿

This classic 80s flick was written and directed by Cameron Crowe, his feature film directorial debut! The classic romantic comedy tracks the romance between Lloyd Dobler (played by John Cusack), a typical student, and Diane Court (portrayed by Ione Skye), the valedictorian of their class, right after they graduate from high school.

🔥Fun Fact: The Smithereens initially penned “A Girl Like You” for a movie, but its inclusion was nixed by the producers who felt it divulged too many plot details. Instead, they opted for “In Your Eyes” by Peter Gabriel. However, “A Girl Like You” found its way onto the band’s album “11” later that year, ultimately becoming a chart-topping hit in the US.
