Black Label Society To Release ‘Order Of The Black’ On August 10th

Berserkers of the universe, the wait will soon come to an end: the new BLS opus will drop in less than four months now. Black Label Society’s brand new album is officially confirmed for an August 10th North American release date. ORDER OF THE BLACK will feature Black Label at its best with frontman/lead axeman Zakk Wylde’s signature guitar virtuosity and howling vocals, as well as a propulsive rhythm section, courtesy of bassist J.D. Deservio and drummer Will Hunt, along with a few surprises. Wylde commented in jest, “The Doom Crew and I have been holed up in the Black Label Bunker for the last few months laying down some of the heaviest, sexiest tracks imaginable. We can’t wait for Berserkers worldwide to hear the symphonic masterpiece that is the new BLS record!” ORDER OF THE BLACK will be released in North America via E1 Music.

In other news, Black Label Society has just been confirmed to headline the second stage of 2010’s Ozzfest. This marks the band’s sixth appearance on the explosive hard rock package tour. Please see below for tour dates. Following Ozzfest, BLS will head out on its own worldwide headlining tour in support of ORDER OF THE BLACK through 2011.

Zakk Wylde and his Black Label Society have become a worldwide phenomenon with die-hard fans all across the globe (affectionately referred to as “Berserkers”) sporting signature BLS gear – leather vests, t-shirts, denim vests with patches, bandanas, etc. Wylde’s international presence is at an all time high having recently returned from several hugely successful press junkets in China, Japan and Singapore. Sponsored by Gibson and Epiphone (makers of Wylde’s signature guitars), these trips saw Wylde completing interviews with high-profile media outlets (print and television), as well as signing thousands of autographs at packed in-store events throughout Asia.

In the two decades since Ozzy Osbourne hired him away from his job at a New Jersey gas station, Zakk Wylde has established himself as a guitar icon known and revered the world over. Writing and recording with Osbourne led to multi-platinum success, inspiring him to create the now legendary Black Label Society in 1998. In the decade plus since, BLS has turned the notion of what a rock band should be upside down by inspiring legions of fans (known as Berserkers) all over the world to follow the mantra: Strength, Determination, Merciless, Forever (SDMF for short). Wylde and his Berserkers have established a heavy metal institution true to the vision of uncompromising, unfiltered and unrestrained rock n’ roll.

OZZfest 2010 Lineup: Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue and Rob Halford To Perform!

OZZfest 2010 Lineup: Ozzy Osbourne, Motley Crue and Rob Halford To Perform!

OZZFest 2010

One of rock’s greatest shows is back to rock the nation! That’s right! The OZZfest 2010 tour has been announced!

More than 15 years after OZZY OSBOURNE debuted OZZFest, the defining blueprint for hard rock tours and festivals returns this August in six American cities with an explosive bill co-headlined by OZZY and, in their first-ever OZZFest appearance, Mötley Crüe—touring together for the first time with OZZY since he invited the group on their now legendary 1984 arena tour. Expect the energy to go way off the charts at the all-day extravaganza of music and deranged merriment.

The 2010 OZZFest–back after taking a year off in 2009 and the 2008 one-off stadium spectacular in Dallas, TX with OZZY and Metallica headlining–will kick off August 14 in San Bernardino (the birthplace of the first OZZFest in 1996) and then make stops in Chicago, IL, Hartford, CT, Camden, NJ, Pittsburgh, PA and Boston, MA. Live Nation will promote the tour nationally.

The main stage will feature full sets from Ozzy, Mötley Crüe and Rob Halford (who last appeared on OZZFest in 2004 with Judas Priest), performing songs from his solo career along with material from Judas Priest and Fight. DevilDriver and Nonpoint will round out the main stage line-up. Second stage headliners and six-time OZZFest veterans Black Label Society will be joined by Drowning Pool, Kingdom of Sorrow, and Goatwhore, Skeletonwitch, Saviours and Kataklysm.

Each OZZFest date will include 13 bands on two stages with music beginning at 1:00 PM. In addition, concert-goers can once again visit the OZZFest “Village of the Damned” featuring a mix of interactive activities, shopping and entertainment throughout the venue concourses.

These OZZFest dates mark the first concerts in the U.S. in connection with the June 15 release of SCREAM (Epic Records), the OZZFest’s founder’s first album in three years and 10th studio album overall. OZZY’s band consists of his OZZY’s new guitar player, Gus G., bassist Blasko, drummer Tommy Clufetos and keyboardist Adam Wakeman.

Tickets for the shows go on sale May 22nd at OZZfest.com and LiveNation.com

Check the Fan Club for special Black Label VIP Meet & Greet packages available soon.

Talking Metal Offers Up Rare Zakk Wylde, Bumblefoot Track For Free

markjohnlogo177The good folks over at Talking Metal are offering a free download in their news section of a rare Zakk Wylde track featuring Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal of Guns ‘N Roses.

“Till The End” is Zakk Wylde on vocals/piano, Bumblefoot on guitar, Mark Strigl on bass and John Ostronomy on drums. We all sang backing vocals along with anybody who happened to be in the room. It was recorded way back in December 2007 the night before Zakk Wylde played a sold out show with Ozzy Osbourne at Madison Sq. Garden. Fooatge from the 13 hour songwriting and recording session were featured on Talking Metal‘s TV show. The song was mixed by Bumblefoot.
