‘I Am Paul Walker’ Tribute Film Hits VOD On 5th Anniversary of the Actor’s Tragic Death

‘I Am Paul Walker’ Tribute Film Hits VOD On 5th Anniversary of the Actor’s Tragic Death

Virgil Films has announced the release of Network Entertainment Inc’s I Am Paul Walker for U.S. digital release of on Friday, November 30, the fifth anniversary of the actor’s tragic passing.

This digital release is the first time the full feature length documentary will be available for fans to view and they can now own or rent on Digital Download platforms across the U.S. on November 30, and/or purchase the DVD of the film, available on December 4.

I Am Paul Walker made its U.S. television premiere on Paramount Network earlier this year on August 11. The documentary, running approximately 30-minutes longer than the version broadcast on television earlier this year, features interviews with those who were closest to Paul, including Fast & Furious actor Tyrese Gibson and director Rob Cohen, director Wayne Kramer, family members Cody Walker, Caleb Walker, Ashlie Walker, Cheryl Walker, and Paul Walker III and close friends, Oakley Lehman, Dr. Michael Domeier and Manager Matt Luber.

“We are thrilled that Paul’s story will be shared even further with his fans – those he was always very grateful to,” said Caleb Walker.  “The timing of the documentary’s digital launch on November 30, the fifth anniversary of Paul’s passing, is a fitting tribute to his legacy.”

The film, directed by Adrian Buitenhuis, explores the life and legacy of actor Paul Walker, the Southern California native who cut his teeth as a child actor before breaking out in the blockbuster Fast & Furious movie franchise.  Featuring interviews with those who knew Paul best both professionally and personally, along with an extensive personal archive of never-before-seen candid video and still photographs provided by family and friends of the late actor, I Am Paul Walker explores Paul’s private side in tandem with the highlights of his highly successful film career. His devotion to his family, his passion for surfing and auto racing, his commitment to marine biology and sharks, his dedication to humanitarian work through his NGO, Reach Out Worldwide, and his love for his family define the character of the man who starred in Fast & Furious, one of the most wildly successful film franchises of all time.

Trailer and Poster Art Revealed For ‘Bob Lazar: Area 51 & Flying Saucers’ Documentary

Area 51, flying saucers from another world – and the program to create a fierce technology. Bob Lazar remains the singular most famous and controversial name in the world of UFOs.

The reason you know about Area 51 is because Lazar came forward and told you about it. His disclosures have turned his life upside-down and he has tried to stay out of the spotlight. For this reason, he has never let any filmmaker into the private world of his daily life – that is – until now.

Jeremy Kenyon Lockyer Corbell’s film, ‘Bob Lazar: Area 51 & Flying Saucers,’ explores Lazar’s claims through the lens of thirty years – providing rare and never before revealed footage – guaranteed to alter the landscape of the debate. The film, narrated by Mickey Rourke, features Bob Lazar, George Knapp, Jeremy Kenyon Lockyer Corbell, Joy White, Phyllis Tucker, Layne Keck, Mario Santa Cruz and Zack Slizewski .

Own it on Digital December 4th and Available On Demand December 18th.

‘OUTATIME: Saving the DeLorean Time Machine’ Documentary Coming To Blu-ray On July 19th from Virgil Films

Coming to Blu-ray this July!

Coming to Blu-ray this July!

The iconic time-traveling car from the Back to the Future movies almost got left in the dust once filming was done, and the tireless efforts to save it are recounted in OUTATIME: SAVING THE DELOREAN TIME MACHINE. The film, which provides a deeply satisfying coda to the beloved trilogy, comes to digital platforms, Blu-ray and DVD from Virgil Films on July 19, 2016.

OUTATIME tells the incredible comeback story of the world’s most famous movie car – the DeLorean Time Machine from the beloved Michael J. Fox comic adventure ‘Back to the Future’ and its sequels. Plagued by souvenir hunters, rats and the elements, this cinematic icon – created by lunatic genius Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) and featuring the all-powerful “flux capacitor” – seemed destined for the junkyard. Director Steve Concotelli’s film chronicles the efforts of ‘Back to the Future’ co-creator and producer Bob Gale, Universal Studios and the trilogy’s dedicated fan community as they tirelessly work together to bring the Time Machine back to life.

In the vein of Top Gear, Counting Cars and American Choppers, OUTATIME will appeal to fans of the trilogy and gearheads alike. It is the perfect companion to the original films, which continue to score high ratings whenever they are aired.

Bonus features on the OUTATIME Blu-ray and DVD include full-length audio commentary with director Steve Concotelli and Joe Walser, who headed up the car’s restoration; deleted scenes; OUTATIME world premiere footage; a restoration photo gallery and more.

Official Poster Unveiled For ‘Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead: The Story of The National Lampoon’ Documentary

Official Poster Unveiled For ‘Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead: The Story of The National Lampoon’ Documentary

Magnolia Pictures has unveiled a new poster for the upcoming documentary ‘Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead: The Story of The National Lampoon.’ Check it out below along with the red band trailer for the film.

From the 1970s thru the 1990s, there was no hipper, no more outrageous comedy in print than The National Lampoon, the groundbreaking humor magazine that pushed the limits of taste and acceptability – and then pushed them even harder. Parodying everything from politics, religion, entertainment and the whole of American lifestyle, the Lampoon eventually went on to branch into successful radio shows, record albums, live stage revues and movies, including Animal House and National Lampoon’s Vacation. The publication launched the careers of legends like John Belushi, Bill Murray, Chevy Chase, Christopher Guest and Gilda Radner, who went on to gigs at Saturday Night Live and stardom.

Director Douglas Tirola’s documentary about the Lampoon, DRUNK STONED BRILLIANT DEAD: THE STORY OF THE NATIONAL LAMPOON, cleverly chronicles its founding by two former Harvard students, its growth, demise and everything in between. Told thru fresh, candid interviews with its key staff, and illustrated with hundreds of outrageous images from the mag itself (along with never-seen interview footage from the magazine’s prime), the film gives fans of the Lampoon a unique inside look at what made the magazine tick, who were its key players, and why it was so outrageously successful: a magazine that dared to think what no one was thinking, but wished they had.

‘Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead: The Story of The National Lampoon’ hits theaters and On Demand September 25th.national-lampoon-doc-poster-2015-1

SOAKED IN BLEACH: Trailer And Poster Revealed For Controversial Kurt Cobain Documentary

SOAKED IN BLEACH: Trailer And Poster Revealed For Controversial Kurt Cobain Documentary

SOAKED IN BLEACH reveals the events behind Kurt Cobain’s death as seen through the eyes of Tom Grant, the private investigator that was hired by Courtney Love in 1994 to track down her missing husband (Kurt Cobain) only days before his deceased body was found at their Seattle home. Cobain’s death was ruled a suicide by the police (a reported self-inflicted gunshot wound), but doubts have circulated for twenty years as to the legitimacy of this ruling, especially due to the work of Mr. Grant, a former L.A. County Sheriff’s detective, who did his own investigation and determined there was significant empirical and circumstantial evidence to conclude that foul play could very well have occurred. The film develops as a narrative mystery with cinematic re-creations, interviews with key experts and witnesses and the examination of official artifacts from the 1994 case.

Directed by Benjamin Statler, ‘Soaked In Bleach’ hits theaters and Vimeo on Demand on June 11th, 2015.

Director Adam Rifkin’s ‘Giuseppe Makes A Movie’ Documentary To Play LA Film Festival Saturday Night

'Giuseppe Makes A Movie'

‘Giuseppe Makes A Movie’

Director Adam Rifkin‘s highly anticipated new documentary, ‘Giuseppe Makes A Movie,’ will be playing the LA Film Festival this Saturday night. Get the scoop on the film below along with the trailer and info on this screening below.

“GIUSEPPE MAKES A MOVIE”

About ‘Giuseppe Makes A Movie’While the rest of America slept, DIY filmmaker/musician Giuseppe Andrews (a one-time teen actor in INDEPENDENCE DAY and DETROIT ROCK CITY) has made over 30 experimental features with titles like DOILY’S SUMMER OF FREAK OCCURRENCES, TRAILER TOWN and UTOPIA BLUES, set in some demented alternate universe (i.e. Ventura, California) populated by real-life alcoholics and drug addicts, trash-talking senior citizens and trailer park residents dressed in cow outfits and costume-shop wigs, acting out booze-fueled vignettes of severe psychosis filtered through Giuseppe’s John Waters-meets-Harmony Korine-meets-Werner Herzog sensibility. Director Adam Rifkin (LOOK, THE DARK BACKWARD) creates a wildly surreal, outrageously funny and strangely touching portrait of a truly Outsider Artist inhabiting a world few of us even know exists, as he follows Giuseppe and his seriously impaired troupe on the production of his latest 2-day opus, GARBANZO GAS, starring Vietnam Ron as a Cow given a weekend reprieve from the slaughterhouse at the local motel. Beyond the sun-stroked Theater of the Absurd madness of Giuseppe’s vision, there is a remarkable and endearing sense of family among the director, his amiably bonkers dad Ed, patient girlfriend Mary, Sir Bigfoot George and the rest of his surreal Trailer Park rep company. As skate-punk Spit sagely observes about Giuseppe’s movies: “They’re just like, nothing really makes any sense, and I don’t know, that’s kinda how reality is, and nobody really cares to accept that.”

‘Giuseppe Makes A Movie’ is selection of the Hot Docs Documentary Festival, the Los Angeles Film Festival and the Rooftop Film Series.
