IRON MAIDEN: ‘The Studio Collection – Remastered’ – Second Set Of CD Digipak Albums Released On March 22nd!

BMG will continue their reissues series of the IRON MAIDEN catalog with the second set of Digipak CD titles in The Studio Collection – Remastered, to be released on March 22nd.

Following on from 2014/2017’s black vinyl releases and 2015’s Mastered for iTunes project, The Studio Collection – Remastered features recordings taken from the same remasters as the 2015 hi-res digital releases. The albums supersede the previously available studio catalogue and all titles will also be made available on streaming platforms.

As a bonus for collectors, one CD from each batch of releases will also be optionally available in a specially artworked box featuring a 1:24 scale figurine and exclusive patch. In the March 22nd batch, this will be Somewhere In Time.

Maiden founder member and bassist Steve Harris says, “We’ve wanted to revisit these for a long time and I was delighted with the remastering we did in 2015. I thought it was the best that our albums have ever sounded and it was only right that we made them available on CD now too.”

Iron Maiden Returns To North America In 2019 With The ‘Legacy Of The Beast Tour’

IRON MAIDEN will bring the Legacy Of The Beast Tour to North America in 2019 for an extensive series of arena and amphitheater shows produced by Live Nation, including a first ever headline appearance at the Banc of California Stadium in LA. The tour will cover a total of 33 cities right across the U.S.A. and Canada, including Portland, Oregon where they haven’t played since 1987 on the Somewhere In Time Tour, Hartford, Connecticut where they last played in 2005, and many other places not visited since the Maiden England 2012/13 Tour. The band’s triumphant first leg of the Legacy Of The Beast Tour opened in Europe earlier this year to outstanding critical acclaim, not just by the 750,000+ fans who came to see the show but right across national press and rock media, including The Times (UK) newspaper calling it “..an extraordinary show filled with world class theatrics…a masterclass in performance and staging.”

Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson comments,

“We’re excited to return to North America and share the Legacy Of The Beast Tour with all our friends there! We’re immensely proud of this show and we’ve had great reactions from the many fans who came to see us in Europe earlier this year. The production is based on our mobile game THE LEGACY OF THE BEAST which basically takes various incarnations of Eddie into many different Maiden Worlds. This inspired us to put together a stage show to take our fans through different Worlds and experiences set to appropriate songs. It is not that easy designing different Worlds on stage and we put a huge amount of work into this to make it work and the end result we feel is our most spectacular and certainly the most complex show to date. We’ve got all kinds of crazy things going on, including a replica Spitfire plane dominating the stage during ‘Aces High,’ tons of pyro, a giant Icarus,  muskets, claymores and some truly marvellous flame-throwers which I have a hell of a lot of fun with, as you will see! And of course we have Eddie, as you’ve never seen him before, and absolutely loads of other surprises. I’ve had the time of my life playing with all these magnificent props on stage, it’s been fantastic, we can’t wait to bring this show to you!”

“We gave a lot of thought to the set list for this Tour as the songs needed to follow the narrative of the changing worlds of the stage show. We feel we ended up with a very strong and well balanced set mixing songs we haven’t played in many years like ‘Flight Of Icarus,’ ‘Sign Of The Cross’ and ‘The Clansman’ with songs we know the fans want to hear like ‘The Trooper,’ ‘2 Minutes To Midnight,’ ‘The Number Of The Beast,’ ‘Fear Of The Dark,’ ‘Run To The Hills,’ ‘Hallowed Be Thy Name’ and others, reflecting the journey through the different themes of the show. Iron Maiden Launch ‘Light Brigade’ Beer To Help Support Help For Heroes Charity

British rock legends IRON MAIDEN and independent family brewers ROBINSONS announce the creation of LIGHT BRIGADE, a unique golden English ale with a 4.1% ABV. Available in the U.K., LIGHT BRIGADE has been developed in support of HELP FOR HEROES, the British charity that provides recovery and support for the Armed Forces community whose lives are affected by their service. 6p of each pint and 5p of each bottle sold will be donated to help the thousands of Servicemen and women who live with complex wounds and injuries – both physical and mental – and are looking to regain their purpose in life. 

HELP FOR HEROES met with ROBINSONS in the summer of 2017 to explore the possibility of launching a beer. ROBINSONS and IRON MAIDEN, who jointly launched TROOPER Beer almost five years ago and which has now sold over 20 million pints worldwide, were immediately enthusiastic about the idea. Indeed, the origin of TROOPER’s name, which comes from the classic IRON MAIDEN song, ‘The Trooper’, based on the Battle of Balaclava of 1854 in the Crimean War, reflects the band’s well-known interest in history.

As ever with the TROOPER range of beers, ROBINSONS’ Head Brewer, MARTYN WEEKS, and IRON MAIDEN lead vocalist and ale aficionado, BRUCE DICKINSON, teamed up to create the new and original beer, with the final tasting and approval taking place at HELP FOR HEROES’ Tedworth House Recovery Centre in Wiltshire, last Autumn.

Iron Maiden Returns To North America With “The Book Of Souls” Tour In 2017!

IRON MAIDEN’s hugely successful The Book Of Souls World Tour will return to North America for an extensive series of arena and amphitheater shows in summer 2017. The mammoth tour opened in Florida last February playing fourteen sold-out shows in the U.S.A and Canada along with a further 58 concerts in 34 other countries around the globe.

First night reviews from Ft Lauderdale called it “…a full-throttle, devil-may-care performance that thrilled a sold-out BB&T Center” (Sun Sentinel) with Revolver magazine reporting how the band’s legendary mascot Eddie dominated the Maya-themed stage: “From a walking zombie towering over band members during the set, to being featured on a host of back-drops and huge blow-up figures – the quintessential symbol was omnipresent for the entire show” including Eddie having his heart literally ripped out of his chest and hurled into the crowd by singer Bruce Dickinson!

We had always planned to go back there and to the UK as last year, due to the global nature of the tour and the period it took, we just didn’t have time to cover them properly and we do still like to get to fans in as many places as possible!

So this year we’re able to reach many more cities in America, including a return to places Maiden haven’t played for many, many years like Lincoln Nebraska, Minneapolis, Oklahoma City and Oakland California. We also welcome playing in Brooklyn for the first time.

We will, of course, be bringing the full production with us including all the Eddies and the Maya-themed stage sets. There’s been a great reaction from everyone to this tour’s theme, people really seem to love it. We’re still deciding on the final set-list and we’ll work that out once we get into rehearsals. Most of our North American fans haven’t seen the show yet so as we want to give them the same Book Of Souls live experience that we took around the world, it’s unlikely we’ll change much. And of course we know our fans appreciate us playing a lot of the older songs too, so we will continue to do that!”

Blaze Bayley Announces Brand New Album, ‘Endure and Survive,’ and Dates For World Tour

Blaze Bayley, singer with Iron Maiden 1994-1999, announces his World Tour schedule to promote a brand new album, the 9th studio record of his solo career.

In home-city Birmingham, England, often celebrated as the birthplace of metal, Blaze Bayley has completed the recording of his ninth studio album, aptly titled ‘Endure and Survive’. The record is an exciting and enthralling sequel to his 2016 release ‘Infinite Entanglement’ which was the first of a trilogy of releases following a sci-fi concept and storyline.

‘Endure and Survive’ is set for release on 3rd March 2017 via Blaze Bayley Recording and will be accompanied by a world tour totalling some 120 shows. The European leg of the tour takes place principally between February and June 2017. After a small number of summer shows, Blaze will then go to the United States and Canada during August-September. It’s also planned to take the tour to Latin America in 2018.

Throughout this world tour, Blaze will be backed by his main recording and touring musicians, picked from British metal band Absolva and including Chris Appleton (guitar, backing vocals), Martin McNee (drums), Karl Schramm (bass, backing vocals).

The album was recorded between October and December 2016 at Robannas Studios, Birmingham, produced by Blaze Bayley and Chris Appleton, mixed and engineered by Miguel Seco, mastered by Ade Emsley (Iron Maiden, Tank, Phil Campbell).

As with the previous record the song-writing has been a collaboration between Blaze, Chris Appleton and Michelle Sciarrotta.

2014-2015 was a period of building momentum for Blaze, partly created by the highly popular release of the 15th anniversary edition of his debut solo record ‘Silicon Messiah’ as well as his ‘Soundtracks of My Life’ 30 year compilation celebrating his career since he began singing with his first band Wolfsbane, before catapulting to worldwide fame with Iron Maiden.

2016 saw a significant renaissance with the remarkable plaudits given to the ‘Infinite Entanglement’ album from fans and critics alike. The year was also notable for Blaze’s special guest performance with Disturbed at the UK’s premier festival Download when the warmth and recognition from the crowd was as crystal clear as it was predictable given Blaze’s reputation for connecting with audiences.

The European leg of the ‘Endure and Survive’ tour is listed below. Additional European shows are still to be announced, whilst the detailed schedule for the US and Canada, plus Latin America in 2018 is awaited.

Jeremy brings us up to speed on his latest entries in his 366 Movie Challenge, which is nearly it’s close. No worries, he is way ahead of the curve! To round out the show, the gang brings their picks of the week to the table along with some ‘Rogue One’ chat.

The wait is over! Metal and RPG gaming fans can now download Iron Maiden: Legacy of the Beast, the action-packed, free-to-play mobile game where players take on the role of the band’s iconic mascot, Eddie. Available from today for iOS and Android devices, the teams at Nodding Frog, 50cc Games and Roadhouse Interactive have created a new and unique gaming experience in close collaboration with the band and its management team, Phantom Music Management.

The game is set in a visually stunning universe, comprised of an ever-expanding series of worlds derived from Iron Maiden’s music and art. Fans of the band and RPG gamers alike will battle and strategize as Eddie and his allies. Inspired by themes from the songs, and set against a powerful and atmospheric Maiden soundtrack, players will journey on epic quests to reclaim the shards of Eddie’s shattered soul as he faces his most challenging adversaries.

Players will amass an army of powerful allies to battle alongside Eddie and face the onslaught of foes hell-bent on destroying him. Legions of unrelenting enemies are commanded by the Agents of Control, including The Beast, The Wicker Man, Horus and The Axis General, all drawn from the expansive catalog of Maiden’s albums and artwork.

The game offers over 40 different Talisman sets to choose from, which all add to characters’ vital abilities. With each battle, players will evolve their armies, take on ever-increasing challenges to reclaim the facets of Eddie’s soul, and ultimately defeat the Agents of Control.

Gameplay is enhanced by a blistering soundtrack that features songs spanning the band’s entire career. Players will hear rare, previously unheard live recordings of Iron Maiden classics adapted for the game under the close scrutiny of bassist and founding member Steve Harris.
