ALMOST ALICE debuts today at #5 on The Billboard 200 album chart, selling over 58,000 units in its first week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album topped Billboard’s Digital Album and Soundtrack charts, the iTunes album chart, and also had Top 10 debuts in Mexico, Canada and Australia.

Released March 2, 2010 by Buena Vista Records, ALMOST ALICE (almostalicemusic.com) puts a musical mad hatter’s spin on Alice and her magical Wonderland. Inspired by Lewis Carroll’s beloved storybooks and director Tim Burton’s blockbuster “Alice in Wonderland,” ALMOST ALICE boasts an eclectic array of recording artists with original songs based on some of the most charismatic characters in literary history. Among the compilation’s highlights are “Alice” by Avril Lavigne (the film’s end credit track); the All-American Rejects’ acoustic-driven “The Poison;” and the Cure’s Robert Smith with a haunting update of “Very Good Advice,” a song from the original 1951 Disney animated feature, “Alice in Wonderland.”

ALMOST ALICE also features “In Transit” performed by blink-182’s Mark Hoppus and Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz; “Painting Flowers,” an epic guitar driven alternative rocker from All Time Low; the funky pop track “Follow Me Down” from 3OH!3 featuring Neon Hitch; and, from one Grace to another, a faithful rendition of Jefferson Airplane’s 1967 hit “White Rabbit,” performed by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. The album is a companion to the film’s soundtrack, which features the score by composer Danny Elfman.

When Walt Disney Pictures and Buena Vista Records joined forces with Hot Topic and MySpace for the Feb. 19 ALICE IN WONDERLAND Ultimate Fan Event, an estimated 5,000 fans gathered at Hollywood & Highland Center while an additional 400,000 fans viewed the live online concert event. The concert featured ALMOST ALICE artists 3OH!3, Metro Station, Kerli and Never Shout Never. The event culminated with appearances by the director and cast of ALICE IN WONDERLAND.

Avril Lavigne has debuted the stunningly beautiful video for “Alice.” The video which was directed by Dave Meyers and shot for two days at the end of January in Los Angeles’ Arboretum. In the clip, Lavigne plays the part of Alice, who falls down a rabbit hole into Wonderland. The Alice In Wonderland “Almost Alice” soundtrack is slated to hit stores on March 2nd, 2010. “Alice” is Lavigne’s first music video in two years, following the clip for “The Best Damn Thing” from her 2007 album of the same name.

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures is teaming up with sister networks ABC, ESPN and ABC FAMILY for a week-long, cross-network extravaganza that will send viewers straight down the rabbit hole with ‘Alice In Wonderland’.

The stunt provides 60-second first-looks customized for each network, all of which will air between Jan. 31 and Feb. 6, 2010.

Featuring exclusive, never-before-seen footage from visionary director Tim Burton’s 3D theatrical motion-picture event, the first looks will culminate with a spectacular Super Bowl spot on Feb. 7, 2010. Entitled “Tick-Tock,” this action-packed spot features intense imagery and a few surprises from Burton’s Wonderland.

An eye-opening 23-minute making-of video for James Cameron’s Avatar has debuted on Yahoo Movies which features a full look at the creation of the epic hit movie!

“Creating the World of Pandora” takes a close look at the about the tech Cameron used for the film, the designs, landscapes, creatures, military hardware, sets and costumes in the film; casting decisions; and the secrets behind the 3-D motion and performance capture, which required a surprising amount of physical performance from the movie’s stars and their learning the Na’vi language).

The video includes interviews with Cameron, producer Jon Landau, members of Cameron’s creative crew and cast members Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Sigourney Weaver.
