Jim Breuer And AC/DC’s Brian Johnson Team Up On New Single, “Mr. Rock n’ Roll”

jim-breuer-2016-2

Comedian Jim Breuer along with backing band The Loud & Rowdy have just released their latest single “Mr. Rock n’ Roll” which features vocals by Brian Johnson of AC/DC. Breuer tells Rolling Stone of the collaboration, “To me, Brian is the most powerful voice in rock and roll. He is also the funniest and most generous man I have ever known. I am still in awe of how he recorded the song and forever thankful.” The track comes off Breuer’s forthcoming musical debut, Songs From The Garage, which is set for release next Friday, May 27 via Metal Blade Records.

In addition to special appearances from Brian Johnson, the album was also produced and features guitar by Rob Caggiano (Anthrax, Volbeat). Backing Breuer up is The Loud & Rowdy with Mike Tichy on drums and Joe Vigliotti on bass. The inspiration for all of this comes from Breuer’s adolescent immersion in the world of heavy music, falling in love with Judas Priest and AC/DC, alongside the likes of The Scorpions, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, and Van Halen. The fire to start a band was soon lit under him, though he wouldn’t begin his musical career until he was older. Having finally made the album that has been burning to get out of him since his teens, Breuer couldn’t be happier with the result.

Comedian Jim Breuer threw a metal show in his garage and captured it all on film for his new video “Thrash”. Following the announcement of his musical debut, Jim Breuer along with backing band The Loud & Rowdy have premiered their boisterous first video today on LoudwireOut May 27 via Metal Blade RecordsSongs From The Garage delivers comedy and masterful heavy music in a record that is unadulterated fun.

Breuer tells Loudwire, “Thrash pretty much wraps up what this project and album represents! This song is for people that grew up with rock and hard rock who now have families, but still love to take the time to throw down & thrash!” The track and video do just that. We find Breuer home alone letting loose when he decides to throw a metal show for the entire neighborhood. Madness ensues as the show-goers head bang and sing along to the anthemic track. Produced by Allison Woest and directed by David Brodsky along with Jim Breuer himself, the video provides pure entertainment and even includes an Ozzy Osbourne impersonation.

The album features special guests such as Brian Johnson (AC/DC) who provides vocals on two tracks and Rob Caggiano (Anthrax, Volbeat) who produced the record and provided guitar. Jim Breuer and The Loud & Rowdy To Release ‘Songs From The Garage’ On May 27th

jim-breuer-2016-2

Accomplished comedian Jim Breuer understands that comedy and heavy music have long made for great bedfellows. On his first musical full-length, Songs From The Garage, Breuer delivers both in his inimitable style with longtime backing band The Loud & Rowdy. Announced today via Rolling Stone, the album is set for release May 27 via Metal Blade Records. With the support of special guests such as Brian Johnson (AC/DC) who provides vocals on two tracks and producer/guitarist Rob Caggiano (Anthrax, Volbeat), Breuer has created a record that is pure, unadulterated fun while remaining true to his rock sensibilities.

Breuer says, “Going into the record the music had to be killer and have great hooks, that was most important, and I wanted to balance that with something that’s funny. I wanted to bring the smile back to hard rock that has a nice punch to it.” From crunchy opening romp “Thrash” through the swaggering “Who’s Better Than Us?!” to the gloriously deranged excitement suffusing “Sugar Rush”, his exuberance is infectious, and he challenges you to keep your ass from shaking and the corners of your mouth twitching while it thunders from the speakers.

Backing Breuer up is The Loud & Rowdy with Mike Tichy on drums, Joe Vigliotti on bass, and Metal Mike on guitar. Initially known as the Jim Breuer Band, without even having a record under their belt it did not take long to turn a lot of heads. After finding themselves on massive festival stages, the band headed into three different studios to record – Metrosonic Studios Brooklyn, Clear Track Studios, and Sonic Debris Recording Studio. With Rob Caggiano (Anthrax, Volbeat) on production and guitar duties, the album was filled with eleven musically badass tracks featuring lyrics that are not only funny but also relatable, reflecting Breuer’s position in life: “A dad with three kids who loves family life yet is still a metalhead at heart.”

Though he has fulfilled one rock and roll dream with its completion, it certainly does not mean he’s about to kick back and leave it at that. “I plan on making great, funny videos for every song and have videos up during the concerts. I want pure entertainment when you come see this live, and now my rock and roll dream is to play this not only here in America, but anywhere else in the world that will accept it! I’m taking it one day at a time, living the dream.”

Comedy Legend Jim Breuer

Comedy Legend Jim Breuer

Metal Blade Records has announced the worldwide signing of Jim Breuer and the Regulators, Jim Breuer’s new hard rock / metal group! As a lifelong hard rock / metal fan, Breuer has often incorporated loud music into his comedy stand-up, so it seemed only natural for him to take the next step and start his own band. Over the past few years, the Jim Breuer band has performed at premier festivals such as Rock on The Range (with Guns N Roses and Avenged Sevenfold), the Motorboat cruise (with Motorhead and Megadeth), Metallica’s Orion Music Festival, Sonisphere in the UK (with Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax), and the headlining stage at Wacken in Germany. Now, under a new moniker (Jim Breuer and the Regulators), the group plans to release their debut in Spring 2016, with various special guests appearing on the record.

Complete details about the album will be revealed soon, but in the meantime, fans can tune into Breuer’s “The Metal in Me” podcast for additional news and information: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/jimbreuerspodcast. The first three episodes are already online with more to be added each week, about finding the comedy, reality, and metal in us all – the perfect mix in life!

Metal Blade Records Chairman/CEO Brian Slagel comments: “We are super excited to be working with Jim Breuer. His is a comedy legend and this album is something truly special. You will be surprised in a good way when you hear it!”

Named one of Comedy Central’s 100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time, Breuer is one of the most recognizable comedians in the business, known for his charismatic stage antics, dead-on impressions, and family-friendly stand-up. Breuer got his big break in 1995 when he joined the cast of NBC’s legendary “Saturday Night Live”, where he became a fan-favorite for his original character “Goat Boy” and his dead-on impressions of actor Joe Pesci. Since then, Breuer has starred in popular films, hosted various TV shows, and appeared on numerous programs as a special guest – in addition to keeping busy on his current comedy tour.
