Grammy-winner Everlast has announced an August 27th release date for his new album, “The Life Acoustic”, via his own label Martyr Inc. Records, in partnership with INgrooves. Everlast’s latest project, “The Life Acoustic”, is a sort of retrospective on the singer/songwriter’s career, with a mixture of classic Everlast and House of Pain material all stripped down to their acoustic essence. Everlast’s “The Life Acoustic” is available for pre-order online at http://smarturl.it/TheLifeAcoustic.

“I wanted to dig up some of the songs that I felt were gems, yet they didn’t get enough of a look the first time; and maybe in this light, they’ll shine,” says Everlast. “I picked my favorite songs, and recorded them straight-up acoustic, maybe a little keyboard and that’s it. There’s part of me that thinks maybe this is what I’m supposed to be doing… I’ve done a couple of European tours acoustically now, and this just feels like the right time to put out an acoustic album.”

The Valley Stream born rapper emerged as a member of Ice-T’s Rhyme Syndicate for his 1990 solo album, “Forever Everlasting”, then formed the pioneering rap group House of Pain with friends DJ Lethal and Danny Boy. Signed to legendary dance and hip-hop label Tommy Boy Records, the group went multi-platinum with their self-titled 1992 debut which produced the legendary rap classic “Jump Around.”

Everlast Announces Tour In Support Of New Album, “Songs of the Ungrateful Living”

Grammy-winner EVERLAST has announced new tour dates in support of his upcoming studio album “Songs of the Ungrateful Living”, which hits stores on October 18th. Lucky residents of Long Beach, CA will have a chance to meet Everlast in-person at Fingerprints C D’s & L P’s on the day the album drops during a special in-store performance. Everlast has also scheduled a rare intimate performance at the legendary Viper Room in Hollywood on October 20th, as well as KTBZ’s Buzzfest in Houston on October 22nd. Everlast will hit the road for a full US tour in the month of November with Hollywood Records recording artist Redlight King supporting all dates.

Everlast has returned to the airwaves in a big way with, “I Get By” the first single from “Songs of the Ungrateful Living”. “I Get By,” an anthem for these troubled times is already making major in-roads at radio, breaking the top forty at both the BDS and Mediabase Alternative charts. Highlights include top five airplay on San Diego’s influential 91x and top ten in Tucson on KFMA. Paul Kriegler, program director at Tulsa’s KMYZ comments emphatically, “Huge phones! A message that really resonates.” “I Get By,” is just one of the emotionally impactful songs off the album that Rolling Stone says, “highlights economic hardship.” Vibe comments, “On his sixth solo studio work the groundbreaking white MC is making a no-nonsense return-to-form.”

EVERLAST recently performed as a part of KROQ’s Epicenter Show on September 24th at Irvine’s Verizon Wireless Center where the site OC Reloaded exclaimed, “Everlast (aka Erik Schrody) is not just any ole white-boy rapper. He’s also a talented songwriter, musician, and leader of the legendary rap group House of Pain,” calling his songs “brilliant.”

Although there have been albums in between, “Songs of the Ungrateful Living” is the spiritual follow-up to his 1998 breakthrough, the multi-platinum “Whitey Ford Sings the Blues”, an eclectic mix of rock, blues, country, pop and hip-hop, which topped the Billboard charts and sold more than 3 million copies on the strength of its crossover hit, “What It’s Like.”

A latticework of rock and hip hop, Redlight King’s music conjures old school sounds while frontman-songwriter, Kaz’s, pensive musings reflect the culmination of life’s highs and lows. Landing in the U.S. with a bang, Redlight King’s first single “Old Man” from their U.S. debut, ‘Something For The Pain’, garnered plenty of buzz. The original song featuring the first-ever sampling of the Neil Young classic, approved by Neil himself, debuted #10 on iTunes Rock Chart while the album landed #3 on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart. Fresh off a summer tour with AWOLNATION, Redlight King is ready to head back on the road in support of their current single “Bullet In My Hand,” a ferocious blend of rock with rhythmic undertones that has anthem written all over it.

La Coka Nostra’s Slaine Set To Release Solo Album “A World With No Skies” On October 26th

La Coka Nostra’s Slaine Set To Release Solo Album “A World With No Skies” On October 26th

Boston rapper Slaine, of the rap super group, La Coka Nostra, has announced an October 26th release date for his upcoming debut solo album, “A World With No Skies”. The album will surface on Suburban Noize Records and is slated to feature guest appearances by Everlast, Cypress Hill’s B-Real, Vinnie Paz of Jedi Mind Tricks, and ILL BILL. Slaine is currently streaming material online at www.myspace.com/slainehiphop.

“Even though I started my career as a solo artist by hustling my ‘The White Man is the Devil’ mixtapes, I think people are more familiar with me from Special Teamz and La Coka Nostra,” commented Slaine. “With this album I set out to create a soundscape that brings you into my world as an individual which is a fucked up place to be. It is hard, dark and aggressive from the beats to the lyrics, and a deeply personal trip through my life and the things that made me who I am today. A ‘World With No Skies’ is a look into my psyche and a vision of my dreams, nightmares, and realities.”

Slaine will appear alongside Ben Affleck and Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) as bank robbers in the upcoming movie “The Town” featuring Jon Hamm (Mad Men). The film is scheduled to hit theaters across the country on September 17th, 2010, and the trailer can be seen online at this location >
