Lisa Marie Presley To Hit The Road This Fall On “Storm & Grace” Tour

Lisa Marie Presley To Hit The Road This Fall On “Storm & Grace” Tour

Lisa Marie Presley will kick off the third leg of her “Storm & Grace” tour on August 27 at Penner-Ash Wine Cellars in Newberg, OR. The extensive North American run will include a night at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles (September 1), a free show at Levitt Shell in Memphis (September 21) and an evening at City Winery in New York City (October 13). She will also perform at 3rd & Lindsley in Nashville on September 20 as part of the 14th Annual Americana Music Festival & Conference, curated by the Americana Music Association and presented by Nissan.

On her upcoming tour, Presley will be introducing fans to her new charity partner, World Vision.  Working in approximately 100 countries for over 60 years, World Vision addresses the root causes of poverty through, community development, disaster preparedness and response, and advocacy.  By asking her fans to join her in making the world a better place for children, Lisa is adding her voice to other World Vision artists, whose fans have already sponsored over one million children. Presley and her family sponsor children in Zambia, Myanmar, Ghana and Kenya.

“I am very excited to align myself and this tour with World Vision,” said Lisa Marie Presley, a longtime children’s advocate. “There will be a display table set up at each show with picture folders of children from all over the world who desperately need to be sponsored, which can be done simply by donating 35 dollars a month. And sponsors can personally correspond with their sponsored children. I will consider it my personal duty to get as many of these children sponsored at each show as possible.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Lisa as she embarks on the Storm & Grace tour,” said Michael Bianchi, Director of World Vision Artists.  “Her passion to ensure the well being of children around the world is a perfect fit with our mission. We look forward to doing great things together!”

Tickets are on sale now for the tour. VIP packages – which include admission to the concert, a meet-and-greet and pre-show Q&A/sound check, limited edition items and more – are available at select venues. Visit http://lisamariepresley.com/tour for details or see below for initial itinerary. Additional dates will be announced. Presley also plans to hit the road in early 2014 and is gearing up to record new material in the year ahead.

You can check out Presley performing “Over Me,” the latest single from Storm & Grace, in her new video, which can be seen here. Directed by Peter Zavadil (Lady Antebellum, The Black Keys, Eric Church), the clip was shot last fall during her show at Nashville’s Exit/In and recently premiered on CMT. Details on Presley’s upcoming live in-concert television special will be announced shortly.

During her first-ever visit to Sun Studio in Memphis, TN, Lisa shot a live video for “Weary,” another track from Storm & Grace. The historic studio, considered by many to be the birthplace of rock & roll, was where her father, Elvis Presley, made his first recordings six decades ago.

Produced by 12-time GRAMMY® winner T Bone Burnett, Storm & Grace marks Presley’s Universal Republic/XIX Recordings debut and follows 2005’s Now What and her Gold-certified debut album, To Whom It May Concern (2003).

Storm & Grace is the album she was born to make – a raw, powerful country, folk and blues collection that finds her embracing her Southern roots and family name,” said Rolling Stone. Entertainment Weekly praised the “smoky, spooky” single “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” while Spinner.com observed: “Presley has made the strongest album of her career … It’s a moody masterpiece, exploring the demons and angels of her life to the tune of country-spiced downbeat pop.” Memphis’ Commercial Appeal called Storm and Grace “a homecoming: a sumptuous album of country-soul, blues, and roots oriented songs that confirm her Southern lineage.”

‘Commando: The Autobiography of Johnny Ramone’ To Be Released In April 2012

‘Commando: The Autobiography of Johnny Ramone’ To Be Released In April 2012

'Commando: The Autobiography of Johnny Ramone'

The ultimate music autobiography arrives at last in the form of Commando: The Autobiography of Johnny Ramone out nationwide on April 2nd, 2012 from Abrams Image. THE definitive book on The Ramones, Commando is the first and only truly autobiographical work written by a founding member of the legendary Ramones chronicling his life, and the story of the band itself, from start to finish. Johnny authors a brutally honest and detailed firsthand account of the band, from inception and their humble beginnings at CBGB in 1974 all the way through to their retirement in 1996 and beyond. This is the real deal, straight from the source—a razor sharp stiletto from the grave delivering the story that has never been told before.

“Johnny Ramone’s autobiography is a no holds bared, straight forward book written in a no-nonsense style that is Johnny personified. His story is written in his own actual words, so the reader gets an insight into what made him the unique, charismatic and exciting individual that he was. It also gives a great view of the Ramones from Johnny’s perspective.” – Tommy Ramone

The Ramones emerged from New York City’s underground rock scene in the mid 70?s to become a global, genre-defining force for rock & roll. Johnny Ramone, (born John Cummings 1948–2004), found his reprieve from a dead-end life through rock and roll as a founding member of one of the most influential bands of all time. Despite his ultimate success with The Ramones, Johnny never really strayed from his working-class roots and attitude. The tough guy from the streets of Queens assumed the role of the tough guy in the band who kept The Ramones focused and moving forward, ultimately securing the seminal band’s place in rock history. The Ramones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 18, 2002, and nearly a decade later, the seminal band was awarded a Grammy for lifetime achievement.

Commando is Johnny’s story and the story of The Ramones told in his own words. Insightful and introspective, the 176-page, visually driven memoir walks through Johnny’s days as a founding member of one of the world’s most iconic bands and also chronicles his personal life beyond the stage. Never afraid to speak his mind, it includes raw and unflinching opinions of the band as well as his fellow peers in music and even the struggle with cancer that ultimately took him. Grounded in decades of his own meticulous records and notes, Johnny also shares his personal assessment of The Ramones catalog, several of his brilliantly eccentric Top Ten Lists, rare historical artifacts and scores of personal and professional photos, most of which have never been seen before.

Commando: The Autobiography of Johnny Ramone will be released in stores and online nationwide on April 2nd, 2012 from Abrams Image for $24.95 with pre-ordered copies available through the Johnny Ramone Army Online Store. E-book will be available on Kindle, iPad, Nook, Kobo and Sony Reader. Global demand for the book is already such that rights have been pre-sold in four different languages throughout Europe and Brazil with more soon to be announced.

Among other incredible offerings, “Commando” includes a foreword written by sole surviving founding member, drummer, Tommy Ramone, and an epilogue written by Johnny’s close friend (and daughter to the King), Lisa Marie Presley. “Commando” was edited by longtime Ramones collaborator John Cafiero, (who also contributed an afterword to the book), with co-editors Steve Miller and Henry Rollins.

Lisa Marie Presley’s To Release ‘Storm and Grace’ On May 15th!

Lisa Marie Presley’s To Release ‘Storm and Grace’ On May 15th!

On May 15, Lisa Marie Presley will release Storm and Grace  her first album in five years and her Universal Republic/XIX Recordings debut. Presley is managed by Simon Fuller, CEO and Founder of XIX Entertainment. The album was produced by 12-time GRAMMY® winner T Bone Burnett and recorded at The Village in Los Angeles. See below for track listing.

'Storm and Grace'

Storm and Grace is a marked departure from the hard-edged sound of Presley’s earlier albums – 2003’s RIAA Gold-certified To Whom It May Concern and 2005’s Now What, both of which debuted in the Top 10 of The Billboard 200. The organic instrumentation of Storm and Grace reflects her Southern roots, from the ominous, swampy vibe of lead single “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet” and “Sticks And Stones” to “Soften The Blows” and the achingly beautifultitle track, which evoke the ease of an impromptu back porch jam session.

Presley’s smoldering alto is hypnotic in the rootsy opener “Over Me” as she reflects on being replaced in a lover’s affections. While Storm and Grace offers an unflinching examination of life and love – beginning with her own shortcomings on “Un-Break” – there is a tender, consoling thread that runs throughout, pointing towards peace and reconciliation. “Weary” may concern a relationship that didn’t work out, but it is suffused with a genuine warmth, as Presley sings: “I will always love you/you can move on, dear.”

“Just over two years ago, I went to England to attempt to write another record after finding myself in a considerably disheartened and uninspired state creatively. Over an eight-month period, I wrote 30 songs. I was fortunate to be able to write with some incredible artists and singers such as Richard Hawley (from Pulp), Ed Harcourt, Sacha Skarbek and Fran Healy (from Travis), to name a few,” recalls Lisa Marie Presley. “Nothing was planned or contrived in any way and out of it came a very organic record that was always inside of me and that I am incredibly proud of. It was a dream come true and such an honor when T Bone liked the songs and produced and played on the record.”

“When songs from Lisa Marie Presley showed up at my door, I was curious. I wondered what the daughter of an American revolutionary music artist had to say. What I heard was honest, raw, unaffected and soulful. I thought her father would be proud of her. The more I listened to the songs, the deeper an artist I found her to be. Listening beyond the media static, Lisa Marie Presley is a Southern American folk music artist of great value,” says T Bone Burnett.

“Her rich, smoky vocals evoke Sheryl Crow and occasionally bear traces of Courtney Love’s ragged disaffection,” said Entertainment Weekly ofPresley’s debut album, To Whom It May Concern, while the Los Angeles Times called the lead single, “Lights Out,” “one of the most hauntingly personal songs” of the year. AllMusic.com praised Now What as “genuine…due largely to her willingness to lay herself bare in her music and lyrics.” While it may differ sonically, Storm and Grace is equally revealing. The track listing is as follows:

Track Listing – Storm and Grace

1. Over Me
2. You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet
3. Weary
4. Close To The Edge
5. So Long
6. Un-Break
