A Perfect Circle Release ‘Eat The Elephant’ On April 20th, Tracklist Revealed!

A Perfect Circle Release ‘Eat The Elephant’ On April 20th, Tracklist Revealed!

A Perfect Circle release Eat The Elephant, the band’s fourth full-length album and first since 2004’s eMOTIVe, on April 20 via BMG.

The album arrives following years of anticipation and speculation, which reached a fever pitch as the outfit helmed by Maynard James Keenan and Billy Howerdel launched their Fall 2017 tour with the release of “The Doomed” (http://smarturl.it/TheDoomedVideo). The band then ushered in the new year with the debut of the contemplative song, “Disillusioned” (http://smarturl.it/DisillusionedYT).

“Although I’m extremely excited to finally be completing this album after a 14-year hiatus,” explains Keenan. “I’m actually more excited that its intentional release date is serving a greater purpose. The 20thof April is Carina Round’s birthday. She is a dear friend who is extremely difficult to shop for. Pressure off. Of course, I must also note that the potheads are gonna be thrilled that this album comes out on 4-20. May it serve as a glorious soundtrack to accompany all of the giggling and vexing sounds of nibbling and snacking. Fingers crossed, Cheech & Chong will be proud.”

“Demos are these precious ideas that you love in their initial state,” adds Howerdel. “Then you collaborate, invite other ideas, and watch them progress. That’s the dynamics and growth of a great record. I feel we’ve made a great record.”

Pre-orders for the 12-song album, which was co-produced by Dave Sardy (Autolux, Slayer), are available now (https://AperfectCircle.lnk.to/EatTheElephantPR) and come with instant digital downloads of “TalkTalk” (http://smarturl.it/TalkTalkVEVO), “Disillusioned” and “The Doomed.” Eat The Elephant is being released in multiple formats including digital, CD, double gatefold 180-gram vinyl and a box set with vinyl, CD and hi-res digital download as well as a prism and custom playing card deck. In advance of Record Store Day, a limited-edition independent retail exclusive version of the LP on white 180-gram vinyl with alternate cover will also be available. A Perfect Circle Kicks Off 2018 With The Release of “Disillusioned”

A Perfect Circle Kicks Off 2018 With The Release of “Disillusioned”

A Perfect Circle welcomed 2018 with the release of “Disillusioned,” the second piece of new music from their forthcoming BMG debut. Listen to the song here: http://smarturl.it/DisillusionedYT.

“Disillusioned” stands in stark contrast to “The Doomed,” the first track the band previewed from the as-of-yet untitled album. Where “The Doomed” felt “apocalyptic” (Rolling Stone) and the track’s video (http://smarturl.it/TheDoomedVideo) was “eerie” and “intense” (Revolver), “Disillusioned” strikes a more optimistic tone, urging listeners to connect with each other once again.

“’The Doomed’ was a rude wake-up call… apologies if you were sleeping peacefully,” said Billy Howerdel of the tone of the bombastic song. “’Disillusioned’ comes from a place of overcoming the slide into the numb. It speaks to reconnection and a fresh start to a new year.”

Addressing the musicality of the song, which echoes the sentiment of unity, Maynard James Keenan said: “Attempting new approaches to composing can be intimidating. Especially with an established project with such a recognizable sound. But sometimes you just gotta take the first swing. Only way to grow.”

A limited edition,10-inch single for “The Doomed/Disillusioned” arrives on March 9. The collectible vinyl has a dual pressing of both songs on side A and a screen-printed B-side. Pre-orders are available now: http://smarturl.it/APC10.

A Perfect Circle has confirmed a trio of U.S. festival performances for this Spring: Las Rageous, Northern Invasion and Rock on the Range which will be followed by the band’s first European tour in close to fifteen years (dates below).

A Perfect Circle Debut Video For “The Doomed” From Forthcoming Album

A Perfect Circle Debut Video For “The Doomed” From Forthcoming Album

A Perfect Circle, who recently released “The Doomed,” the first new music to be heard from the band’s expected 2018 album, return with an accompanying video for the “apocalyptic” (Rolling Stone) track: http://smarturl.it/TheDoomedVideo.

The video, which was directed by Jeremy Danger and Travis Shinn, arrives as the band is in the final two weeks of their North American tour. A Perfect Circle also recently announced their first European tour in fourteen years (dates below).

Upon arrival of “The Doomed” (http://smarturl.it/TheDoomedVevo), Maynard James Keenan said: “Fourteen years have passed since we released eMOTIVe. A new release is long overdue. In light of this current difficult and polarized social, spiritual and political climate, we artist types need to open our big mouths and share the light a little louder.”

“Years of life experience has brought our music to this moment,” offered Billy Howerdel. “We know where we came from. Deeply connected to the path we’re on.”

A Perfect Circle have signed a worldwide recording deal with BMG and are working with producer Dave Sardy on the follow-up to 2004’s eMOTIVe.

There are those who know, and there are those who will know soon enough.” Guitar player/producer Mat Mitchell added, “Round 1 was a blast for us, looking forward to more bone breaking fun in Round 2!”

Puscifer kicked off the Money $hot – Round 1 tour the day after the release of Money $hot, playing the Monster Mash Festival on Nov. 1 with the next six weeks spent trekking from coast-to-coast presenting sold out performances that marry the concept of concert and theater. The Kansas City Star, in a live review, said “not much emerges from the music world these days that feels genuinely unique, but Puscifer’s Money $hot tour qualifies. Each component of the show was first-rate: the sound mix, the videos, the musical performance and the theatrics. It all added up to a show that was as memorable as it was unique.”

Money $hot was released on Oct. 30 via Keenan’s Puscifer Entertainment. The album landed at #1 on Billboard’s Independent Music chart, #2 on the Alternative Albums chart and #30 on the Top 200. In a four star review, Revolver Magazine described the album as “a meditative and hypnotic – not to mention wholly engaging – offering” and both Crave and Kerrang placed the release on their year end, best of lists, with Crave saying, “The yin and yang of masculine and feminine energy interweave a pulsing eroticism that curls itself around the mind like one of Keenan’s many grapevines.”

Puscifer’s touring line-up is Keenan, Mitchell, singer Carina Round, drummer Jeff Friedl, keyboard player/vocalist Mahsa Zargaran and the newest addition, bass player Paul Barker (Ministry, Lead Into Gold).

Puscifer Release Video For “The Remedy,” On Tour Now!

Puscifer Release Video For “The Remedy,” On Tour Now!

puscifer-2015-12

Puscifer, who are in the midst of a North American tour, have premiered a video for the band’s current single, “The Remedy,” via Loudwire. Check it out below!

The electro-rock outfit recently released their third album, Money Shot, which Entertainment Weekly described as “an exceptionally groovy collection of tunes, full of chunky riffs, electronic rhythmic assaults, and Keenan’s otherworldly voice wrapped around his uncanny melodic sensibilities.” Rolling Stone said Money Shot “takes a more refined approach to all the things that make Puscifer, Puscifer. The raunchy sense of humor is still there but the overall mood of melodically pulsing songs like ‘Grand Canyon,’ ‘Galileo’ and ‘The Remedy’ is darker, more somber and more reflective.”

Puscifer recorded the album this spring in both Jerome, Ariz. and North Hollywood, Calif.  Money Shot was produced by guitar player, programmer Mat Mitchell with Maynard James Keenan, Mitchell and dynamic Puscifer singer Carina Round penning the album’s ten songs.

“I don’t really know how else to talk about it other than it’s more,” said Keenan. “It really is kind of a culmination of all the things I’ve been exposed to and inspired by over the years. That combination of the digital programming combined with that acoustic element of the harmonies…. Trying to find that actual pulse, that breath of life within the digital landscape — and then just going ahead and bringing it in for real.”

The band has released two additional videos from the new album, a clip for the title track, “Money Shot,” (https://youtu.be/vd6gWzuVb5Q) and “Grand Canyon” (https://youtu.be/qtZJiQSmJ9g).

Puscifer Announces Fall Tour; Reveal ‘Money Shot’ Cover And Track Listing

Puscifer Announces Fall Tour; Reveal ‘Money Shot’ Cover And Track Listing

pusifer-money-shot-2015

Puscifer, who recently announced a new album, Money Shot (Oct 30, Puscifer Entertainment), and the release of the “Grand Canyon” video, will be returning to the road, kicking off a six-week outing on Nov. 1 at the Monster Mash Festival in Phoenix.

“As is the Modus Operandi of Puscifer, there will be a whole new show to accompany the Money Shotrelease. We’ve been leaving a few clues here and there as to what it may entail,” said Maynard James Keenan.  “As usual, we prefer to Show rather than Tell. Odds are if you’ve been a fan of the diverse nature of our performances in the past, you’ll want to go ahead and place those bets.”

It’s no surprise that Keenan choose to debut the electro rock band-meets-comedy troupe on a Las Vegas stage (Puscifer’s first shows were at The Pearl Theatre in the Palms Casino).  In the intervening years, we’ve met a cadre of characters including Billy D and Hildy Berger, Major Douche, Peter Merkin and spent time around a campfire, with an Airstream trailer in the background, as audiences enjoyed a Sonoran sunset.  Puscifer, who thrive on the element of surprise, have revamped their stage show, with no spoilers to share, we can only say it exceeds the production seen in recent outings.

The live line-up for the Money Shot tour includes Keenan, Mat Mitchell, Carina Round, Jeff Friedl, Mahsa Zargaran and the newest addition, Paul Barker (Ministry, Lead Into Gold).

Money Shot physical pre-order packages are available now via Puscifer.com.  The various offerings include both signed and unsigned copies of the new album as well as an instant download of “Grand Canyon.”

Puscifer Returns With ‘Money Shot’ On Oct. 30; “Grand Canyon” Video Premieres

Puscifer Returns With ‘Money Shot’ On Oct. 30; “Grand Canyon” Video Premieres

Puscifer-2015-1

Puscifer, the Arizona-based outfit helmed by Maynard James Keenan, return with the electro-rock band’s third full-length album, Money Shot, on Oct. 30 via Puscifer Entertainment. Rolling Stone offers the first sounds and imagery from the new album with the video for “Grand Canyon” –  Click here to see more >

“It’s extremely satisfying to witness simple conversations and ideas transform into completed sonic landscapes. And to have these stories go above and beyond the initial ideas makes my grumpy heart swell three sizes,” said band ringleader, Maynard James Keenan. Puscifer celebrates the concept of creativity, invoking the audience “to create something with every breath drawn.” That sentiment takes center stage as Money Shotunfolds over its 10 songs.

Money Shot was produced by guitar player, programmer Mat Mitchell and Keenan with some additional awesome sauce coming from the one of a kind, bad ass Carina Round. “It’s such a pleasure to work on music with so many creative individuals. The intermix of influences and ideas made for an album I’m really proud of,” added Mitchell. Additional participants include Carina Round, Juliette Commagere, Devo Keenan, Tim Alexander, Jon Theodore, Jeff Friedl and Matt McJunkins, with Adam Rothlein directing the “Grand Canyon” video.

Puscifer’s previous studio albums, the tongue-in-cheek V is for V****a (2007) and the Spaghetti western-flavored Conditions of My Parole (2011) both debuted in the Billboard Top 30. Puscifer was born in 1995 during Keenan’s participation in Laura Milligan’s Hollywood-based, underground variety stage show, Tantrum. The outfit’s first television appearance came via Mr. Show.  The multimedia troupe has morphed over its now 20-year history into a band that creates and blends insightful, captivating music coupled with jaw-dropping imagery and the more-than-occasional Kaufman-esque comedy.
