Jesse Ventura Unleashes ‘We the People With Jesse Ventura’ Podcast On Adam Carolla Digital

Jesse Ventura Unleashes ‘We the People With Jesse Ventura’ Podcast On Adam Carolla Digital

Jesse Ventura

Jesse Ventura

Jesse Ventura will be the latest addition to Carolla Digital, Adam Carolla’s podcast network, premieres today Thursday, July 31st, bringing a new episode of his podcast, “We the People with Jesse Ventura,” will be available for download on Carolla Digital and iTunes every Thursday.

On the weeks leading up to his podcast’s debut, Jesse Ventura asked his fans – who he calls his Vigilant Viewers – to vote on the name.

“I want you to name it. That’s right, I’m leaving it up to you my listeners to name my new podcast,” said Jesse Ventura in a voice recording on his blog.

The blog post gave fans the opportunity to actually vote in a poll and see the percentage of people who voted for each name. Fans were encouraged to submit their own ideas for a podcast name or pick between five options.

“We the People with Jesse Ventura” was announced the clear winner last week. The first guest of “We the People with Jesse Ventura” is the number one podcast host himself, Adam Carolla.

True to the name “We the People with Jesse Ventura,” the former Minnesota governor gave his Twitter and Facebook followers the opportunity to ask his guest a question. Ventura then dedicated a segment of his hour-long podcast to asking Adam Carolla those questions.

Since January 2014, Jesse Ventura has been broadcasting a Tuesday through Friday online show called “Off The Grid.” In less than six months, he has acquired over 53,000 subscribers on Youtube and over two-million viewers total between Youtube and the digital network Ora.tv, which also produces Emmy nominated “Larry King Now” and Larry King’s “PoliticKING“. Ora.tv is producing Ventura’s podcast, and the first episode will be available for download today here.

What can fans of Jesse Ventura’s online show “Off The Grid” expect from this new format? In a game called “If I Were President,” Adam Carolla tells Jesse Ventura what he would do if he were president…and who would be his VP.

“I can’t wait to find out my fans’ reactions to what America would be like if Adam were president,” Ventura said.

Other topics discussed in the premiere podcast episode include Jesse’s take on the Pope and on the birther issue, since a new poll shows that approximately 40 percent of Republicans still believe Obama is not an American citizen.

“My fans have requested a podcast for some time now,” stated Jesse Ventura. “I find it to be a new, interesting and innovative way to communicate with them.”

Jesse Ventura’s podcast debuts today on Adam Carolla’s network Carolla Digital. “The Adam Carolla Show” is the most downloaded daily podcast in the world.

REVIEW: Watch Jesse Ventura’s ‘Off The Grid’ and Drive Friends Mad!

REVIEW: Watch Jesse Ventura’s ‘Off The Grid’ and Drive Friends Mad!

jesse-ventura-2014-1

There are four things most likely to be the root cause of a friendship that breaks apart, and those four things are money, sex, religion and politics. Three of those four topics suck ass… wait… maybe that’s a bad way to put it, but I think you know what I mean.

Chances are you’ve experienced the end of a friendship because of differences over one of the four things. The friendship might not have ended in a knock-down, drag-out fight, but more of a slow separation where phone call frequency dwindles away until one year you realize, “I haven’t talked to that guy in three years,” kind of end.

It happens.

Dealing with someone who has passionate views about any one of those topics, can get tiresome over time, and depending on the views, it can lead to labels being put upon them.

For example, “JIm has lost his mind when it comes to this religious stuff.”

Jesse Ventura

Jesse Ventura

There are a lot of people who have firmly affixed the “Crazy” label onto the forehead of former Navy SEAL, wrestler, actor, governor, and television personality, Jesse “The Body” Ventura –– and yes, he still calls himself “The Body” from time to time. It’s not a hard conclusion to reach when the only exposure to him is from clips on political commentary shows, or on the spoof news with John Stewart.

Ventura didn’t do himself many favors in this regard on his recent TruTV show, Conspiracy Theory, where for three seasons he investigated subjects like secret stock market manipulations, HAARP, and 9-11 conspiracies.

While his new show Off the Grid doesn’t tackle issues like reptilian shape-shifters running the country, it does continue to carry the torch for those who are distrustful of government. This time, however, we get more opinion from Ventura, and more interview time with people who can help elaborate his points, or explain complicated topics.

At the core of Off the Grid is Ventura’s dislike of the two-party political system and what he insists is government tailored to benefit the highest bidder. He also staunchly defends the constitution and the right of people to pursue their lives without government intrusion.

In other words, if you are able wipe Ventura’s history from your mind, and perhaps look past the fact he’s usually wearing a t-shirt on the show, some of which tie-dyed or feature skeleton pirates, and actually listen to what hes saying, the man tends to make a lot of sense.

jesse-ventura-2014-3

In one episode, he interviewed ACLU’s Speech, Privacy and Technology Project Director Ben Wizner, who serves as Edward Snowden’s legal advisor. Snowden, you might remember, is the CIA tech guy who disclosed thousands of classified documents revealing the NSA’s domestic spying on its everyday citizens.

Is Snowden a hero and patriot?

Ventura thinks so, and he presents a convincing argument for it here.

In another episode, covering a similar topic, he interviews Thomas Drake, himself a former military man and Snowden’s predecessor in some ways, and again leaves viewers wondering whether our own government has our best interests at heart.

Ventura does this again and again with issue after issue. He’s not his usual crazy self in this series, and it gives us all a glimpse at the Ventura that was more than likely on display when he became Minnesota’s governor. It’s also no coincidence he occasionally mentions on the show he is considering a run during the 2016 presidential campaign. “President?” is even one of the flying words, complete with the question mark that pops up after half-second delay, describing Ventura that appear during the show’s intro.

jesse-ventura-2014-2

During his interview with Abby Martin, host of RT America, a Russian production, he said, ‘This is my dream job, I’m down here where the temperature is 85 degrees and sunny everyday and nobody tells me what to do.”

Political views are so personal, it might be hard to convince friends to take the time to watch a few episodes to soak in the juice Ventura is making on his new show, but where there is a will there is a way.

Ventura offers thoughts and opinions that are not influenced by the DemoCrips or the ReBloodlicans, as he calls them. He goes after each issue with an independent eye, the way issues should be analyzed. He uses a common sense approach, surprisingly enough, in most circumstances.

jesse-ventura-2014-4

You don’t have to tell your friends that when recommending the show though.

Tell your friends he’s crazier than ever and try convincing them to watch it for that reason. You never know, they might learn something while waiting for Ventura to spout off about some wild conspiracy theory, or to break out the feather boas and put on the kind of gun show that would have made the late  Gorilla Monsoon proud.

He hasn’t failed to deliver at least a few good points inspiring thinking outside the trappings of American politics in the episodes I’ve seen, and that is never a bad thing. Open minds get things done.

Monday, January 27th marked the explosive premiere of Jesse Ventura’s online show Off The Grid on Ora. The newest edition to Ora.TV, Jesse Ventura will be hosting Off The Grid from an undisclosed location in Mexico’s Baja Peninsula, and broadcasting into what he considers “Occupied America.”

“Broadcasting from Mexico gives me a unique perspective about the news because I’m not tainted by what’s going on in the states,” says Jesse Ventura, the 38th governor of Minnesota. “I won’t be covering something because every other news network is covering it.”

Off The Grid will offer Jesse Ventura’s electrifying insight into the nation’s most pressing problems as well as unleash the former governor’s takes on topics ranging from government hypocrisy, to corporate deception, to current events. It will also feature Ventura in conversation with the world’s leading political and cultural minds as well as fellow conspiracy savants.

“The American people deserve to know more about what’s really going on in the world. Justin Bieber has no right to make the news. He isn’t news,” says Ventura.  “What’s going on in the Ukraine right now? That’s news. The fact that the company responsible for two chemical spills in West Virginia’s drinking water is trying to skirt out of lawsuits by claiming bankruptcy? That’s news.”

For the show’s debut, Off The Grid will air Monday through Friday. Episodes will be posted online at 12 pm PST / 3 pm EST at www.ora.tv/OffTheGrid and www.youtube.com/JesseVentura and they will be available for immediate viewing at anytime.

After this week, the show will go to a Tuesday through Friday schedule, with a unique behind-the-scenes blog post on Mondays on http://OffTheGridBlog.ora.tvthat includes a written and video component from Jesse Ventura. Facebook and Twitter fans can also chime in by asking Jesse Ventura’s opinion on important issues or providing questions for him to ask upcoming guests.

“The news is dumbed down, based solely on ratings, and often isn’t even factual because American news networks are occupied by the interests of major corporations,” states Jesse Ventura. “My show will be off the grid in the sense that I will be off of the corporate payroll; I won’t answer to some guy upstairs, giving me orders on what to report or how to report.”

The show’s tagline is certainly apropos: “No suits, no censors, no red tape. Just Jesse Ventura as we like him: bold, brazen, and bare knuckled.”
