Check Out The Official ‘Machete’ Photobomb Website and Create A Poster!

20th Century Fox is about release one of our most anticipated films of 2010, Machete. Written by Robert Rodriguez and co-directed by Ethan Maniquis, this badass flick features a star-studded cast which includes Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Cheech Marin, Lindsay Lohan, Don Johnson, Jeff Fahey, and Steven Segal.

The film roars into theaters it on September 3rd, 2010! To celebrate the release of the film, 20th Century Fox has recently launched the “photobomb” feature on the ‘Machete’ website that allows you to upload a photo and create a poster. You can share it on the site or on Facebook. Check it out at www.machetephotobomb.com!

Machete was originally a hard-edged trailer featured in GRINDHOUSE that became fanboy fodder since its first showing at the 2006 Comic-Con.The feature version of the trailer finds Machete (Trejo) a renegade former Mexican Federale, roaming the streets of Texas after a shakedown from drug lord Torrez (Seagal). Reluctantly, Machete takes an offer from spin doctor Benz (Fahey) to assassinate McLaughlin (De Niro) a corrupt Senator. Double crossed and on the run Machete braves the odds with the help of Luz (Rodriguez), a saucy taco slinger, Padre (Marin) his “holy” brother, and April (Lohan) a socialite with a penchant for guns. All while being tracked by Sartana (Alba), a sexy ICE agent with a special interest in the blade slinger.

Universal’s ‘The Thing’ Prequel Get A Release Date!

thingpostUniversal’s The Thing prequel now has an official release date. According  Box Office Mojo, the film is slated for a April 29th, 2011 release. Matthijs van Heijningen, Jr. is directing from a screenplay by Eric Heisserer and Ronald D. Moore.

The cast for the flick includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Joel Edgerton, Jonathan Walker, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Dennis Storhøi, Trond Espen Seim, Jørgen Langhelle, Eric Christian Olsen, Stig Henrik Hoff, Jan Gunnar Røise, Kristofer Hivju, and Jo Adrian Haavind.

Synopsis: A Ph.D. candidate (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) joins a Norwegian research team in Antarctica after it discovers an alien ship in the ice. When a trapped organism is freed and begins a series of attacks, she is forced to team with a blue-collar mercenary helicopter pilot (Joel Edgerton) to stop the rampage.

machete-poster20th Century Fox has announced that Robert Rodriguez’s Machete will be headed to theaters just in time for the Labor Day holiday. The film is now slated for a September 3rd, 2010 release. The film stars Danny Trejo, Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez and Lindsay Lohan.

Machete was originally a hard-edged trailer featured in GRINDHOUSE that became fanboy fodder since its first showing at the 2006 Comic-Con.The feature version of the trailer finds Machete (Trejo) a renegade former Mexican Federale, roaming the streets of Texas after a shakedown from drug lord Torrez (Seagal). Reluctantly, Machete takes an offer from spin doctor Benz (Fahey) to assassinate McLaughlin (De Niro) a corrupt Senator. Double crossed and on the run Machete braves the odds with the help of Luz (Rodriguez), a saucy taco slinger, Padre (Marin) his “holy” brother, and April (Lohan) a socialite with a penchant for guns. All while being tracked by Sartana (Alba), a sexy ICE agent with a special interest in the blade slinger.

Rodriguez who also penned the script will serve triple duty as Producer with Elizabeth Avellán ofTroublemaker Studios, and Rick Schwartz, Aaron Kaufman, and Iliana Nikolic of Overnight Productions, who will also provide the film’s financing.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton Join The Cast of ‘The Thing’

The first bit of casting for the prequel to Jon Carpenter’s classic, The Thing, has hit the web via THR’s Heat Vision.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Grindhouse, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World) and Joel Edgerton (The Secret Life of Us, Kinky Boots) will star in “The Thing.” The film is inspired by the events at the beginning of the 1982 version where remaining members of the Norweigan team are trying desperately to kill a runaway dog that has been infected with the organism.

Winstead will play a Ph.D. candidate who joins a Norwegian research team in Antarctica after it discovers an alien ship in the ice. When a trapped organism is freed and begins a series of attacks, she is forced to team with a blue-collar mercenary helicopter pilot (Edgerton) to stop the rampage.

The film is set for a March 15, 2010 start date in Toronto, Canada. Matthijs Van Heijningen is directing the film, which was written by Ronald D. Moore and Eric Heisserer.

V is a “re-imagining” of the 1980s miniseries of the same name. It takes place in the none-too-distant future, when aliens rule humanity.

The show will air for four weeks before going on hiatus until March 2010. The series stars Elizabeth Mitchell, Morris Chestnut, Joel Gretsch, Lourdes Benedicto, Morena Baccarin and Scott Wolf.

The new V centers on a female Homeland Security agent, dealing with the arrival of a race of aliens.

Many fans of the original series wondered amongst themselves if it was to soon to reboot the now classic sci-fi series. In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, Morena Baccarin shed some light on why the story of ‘V’ is ready to be retold. “We’re all interested in life outside of Earth. We all have a fascination with what’s out there because we don’t really know. The storyline lends itself to explore a lot of things—like fear, and blind devotion and terrorism.” said Baccarin. Baccarin also opened up in the interview on her thoughts on what intrigues us about visitors from other worlds and what she brings to the role.
