SHIM Releases New Video “Crucified”; Announces New Headline Tour with Madame Mayhem

Hot on the heels of his current self-titled release, SHIM has released a new single to radio titled “Crucified”. The video for the single has made it’s debut and can be seen below! In addition, SHIM has announced that he is hitting the road on a headline tour with Madame Mayhem. The tour begins on March 2nd in Colorado Springs, CO at The Black Sheep and concludes March 27th in Nashville, TN at The End.

“The video portrays the dilemma that when faced with a life changing decision it won’t just change your life, it will change the person you become within it. Over the course of the last couple of years of rebuilding and reinventing myself, I had a lot of people try and dissuade me, or attempt to stop me, or attempt to Crucify me. How you handle yourself under those circumstances dictates the person you will become.

This is who I am.

I am SHIM”

When Shim Moore first began writing solo music, a piece of early career advice stuck with him.

He recalls, “Somebody once told me, ‘When you’re making music, the difference between good and great is blood. If you bleed on a record, people are going to hear it. If you don’t, people are going to hear it too’.”

Truth is, Shim’s blood courses through every song he’s ever written and recorded. Millions of fans worldwide connected to his songwriting, spirit, and soul across four full-length albums from the RIAA platinum-certified Sick Puppies—which he founded in 1997. Following his split from the group during 2015, the Australia-born and Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and producer did what he does best: write.

Meet the MAKE AMERICA ROCK AGAIN 2017 Artists:

Scott Stapp‘s artistic and personal journey have encompassed all the talent and torment imaginable in scaling to musical success. The founding member of Creed chronicled his questions, his quest for answers, and his dreams from faith to fatherhood in chart topping hits, “My Own Prison”, “Higher”, “My Sacrifice”, “One Last Breath” and “With Arms Wide Open”, which dominated the sonic landscape of the 90s-2000s. His soul-piercing lyrics backed by thundering rock riffs garnered a Grammy Award, and countless other accolades of creativity and chart domination, not to mention legions of fans, who felt a kindred spirit in his honesty. Since his original departure from Creed, Stapp has released two solo albums (The Great Divide, 2005 and Proof of Life, 2013 ${“[“}#1 on Christian charts]), a revealing memoir (Sinner’s Creed, 2012), and a “rebirthed” Creed album, (Full Circle, 2009). In addition to his thriving solo career, Stapp is also the lead singer of the new supergroup Art of Anarchy, whose first album with Stapp, The Madness, was released earlier this year. www.scottstapp.com | www.facebook.com/ScottStapp

Scott Stapp says, “I’m excited to headline MAKE AMERICA ROCK AGAIN! We’ve got a great line-up that I’m looking forward to touring with. It’s going to be a great summer of rock and roll for the bands and the fans.”

Since bursting onto the rock scene, Sick Puppies have sold over one million records and reached a RIAA Gold album certification for their breakout second full-length, Tri-Polar, which yielded two million in single sales. This included the gold-certified “You’re Going Down” as well as rock smashes “Maybe”, “Riptide” and “Odd One”. www.sickpuppies.com | www.facebook.com/sickpuppies

Emma Anzai of Sick Puppies adds, “Can’t wait to hit the stage with our good friends for the MAKE AMERICA ROCK AGAIN tour, we’re pumped and ready to go! See ya out there.”

Drowning Pool skyrocketed to fame with their debut album, Sinner, which was certified platinum just six weeks after its release. The band have more than fifteen years of success at commercial rock radio, driven by the hard rock anthems “Bodies”, “Tear Away” and “Sinner”, and hits including “37 Stitches”, “Step Up”, “Feel Like I Do” and “One Finger And A Fist”, to name just a few. Drowning Pool continue to support their latest release, Hellelujah (2016, eOne), and are currently at work on their seventh studio album while continuing to perform worldwide. Known for their unwavering support of the military, the band will celebrate on July 4, 2017 by performing for the troops at Guantanamo Bay, and also have summer shows for the U.S. military in Honduras, Romania and Bulgaria. They participated in the inaugural MAKE AMERICA ROCK AGAIN tour in 2016, and are proud to have been asked to return for the 2017 run. www.drowningpool.com | www.facebook.com/drowningpool

In a band statement, Drowning Pool says, “We can’t wait to return to the road and MAKE AMERICA ROCK AGAIN – last year’s dates were a blast, but pound-for-pound this year looks to be even bigger and better and is sure to be a don’t-miss experience. Drowning Pooland Scott Stapp were labelmates early in our careers, and it will be great to finally tour with him, our friends in Sick Puppies and Trapt, and our new friends in Adelitas Way. Together, we will… (wait for it)… (keep waiting)… MAKE AMERICA ROCK AGAIN! Can’t wait to see everyone on the road!”

RIAA certified platinum hard rock leaders Trapt originally burst onto the scene and radio airwaves in 2002 with their second self-titled album, spawning their career-defining hit “Headstrong”, which hit the #1 spot on both the Billboard Modern Rock and Hot Mainstream Rock charts, as well as #16 on the Top 100 chart at the time of its release. Their following album, Someone In Control, hit the US Mainstream Rock charts in 2005, and was subsequently followed by three more full-length records – Only Through The Pain (2008), No Apologies (2010) and Reborn (2013). Trapt‘s latest album, DNA (2016), represents the rebirth of the band and their ability to transform with current trends – remaining fresh and at the forefront.www.trapt.com | www.facebook.com/trapt

Trapt frontman Chris Taylor Brown adds, “Last year’s MAKE AMERICA ROCK AGAIN tour was epic, and the line-up we got this year is going to be even more epic! Can’t wait to rock for all our fans again this summer. Get ready for the best night of your life!”

Las Vegas-based hard rock outfit Adelitas Way formed in 2006, but it wasn’t until 2009 that they broke into the mainstream. Their anthemic song, “Invincible”, from their self-titled debut album climbed its way into numerous television spots on CSI Miami, WWE Superstars, the Fox Sports Network, ESPN’s Monday Night Football, and the American League Championship Series on Fox. Adelitas Way released its debut on Virgin Records in July 2009. The band’s sophomore effort, Home School Valedictorian, arrived in Summer 2011, spawning four top five singles – including two #1 hits at rock radio. The record was the band’s highest selling album to date, selling over 150,000 copies and close to one million singles. The band’s third album, Stuck, was released in 2014, and spawned a top 10 single with “Dog on a Leash” (#6) at active rock. Adelitas Way followed up with their fourth album, Getaway, in 2016 and will release their fifth album, Notorious, this year. www.adelitaswaymusic.com | www.facebook.com/adelitasway

Adelitas Way frontman Rick DeJesus says, “We love to rock and we love America, so this tour makes sense for us! We are ready to put on electric sets every night of this tour and set the tone for the amazing night music fans will have.”

A NEW ERA: Sick Puppies’ Mark Goodwin On The Band’s Exciting New Chapter

A NEW ERA: Sick Puppies’ Mark Goodwin On The Band’s Exciting New Chapter

sick-puppies-2016-1

Already a decade into their career in the ever-evolving music industry, Sick Puppies established themselves as a force to be reckoned with. Since bursting on the rock scene, the band has sold more than 1 million records, including a Gold album certification for their breakout second full-length “Tri-Polar,” which yielded 2 million in single sales including the gold-certified “You’re Going Down” as well as rock smashes “Maybe,” “Riptide” and “Odd One.” Their latest release, 2013’s “Connect,” earned the band its highest Billboard Top 200 debut at #17 and yielded two top 10 singles at rock radio peaking at #2. Along the way, the trio played alongside the world’s biggest bands from Muse, The Killers, Deftones, Evanescence, Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach, Incubus to Tool.

The band experienced its fair share of ups-and-downs along the way, most notably the departure of singer-guitarist Shim Moore in October 2014. Since that time, fans of Sick Puppies anxiously awaited the next chapter in their story. In late December, Sick Puppies offered a video teaser of a studio performance with their new vocalist, but carefully hid his identity. It wouldn’t be long before the band revealed Houston-based singer-guitarist Bryan Scott joined bassist Emma Anzai and drummer Mark Goodwin in the band. Scott previously played with Glass Intrepid and Dev Electric and briefly toured as vocalist for Atlantic Records rock act Emphatic in 2011. Sick Puppies offered up the first taste of this exciting new era with the release of their hard-rockin’ single “Stick to Your Guns.” The single continues to dominate Active Rock radio across America and serves as the lead track from the band’s upcoming fourth studio album “Fury,” which is set for release on May 20th. With scheduled appearances at some of the nation’s biggest festivals, Sick Puppies seems destined to continue their winning streak.

Jason Price of Icon Vs. Icon recently caught up with Sick Puppies drummer Mark Goodwin to discuss the arrival of Bryan Scott, the creative impact of their collaboration and what fans can expect from “Fury.”

Let’s go back to the beginning. How did music first come into your life?

I started playing music around 12 or 13 years old. For me, there was always something about the drums that fascinated me. In the beginning, it was just the way they looked. That led to me asking for drums every Christmas! Due to the nature of the instrument, that is one thing parents are leery about in the beginning! [laughs] Eventually, I got a job and bought my own set, so they couldn’t do anything about it! I started from there and ended up playing with some local bands and stuff. After high school, I moved to LA. I grew up in Orange County, which is just an hour south of LA, so it wasn’t too far away. Then I met Sick Puppies in LA about 10 years ago and the rest is history.

Who had a big impact on you musically?

I was influenced by a lot of the ‘90s stuff. I kind of missed the Nirvana boat by a little bit, although I do like them, but I was definitely into Foo Fighters when they got their start. There were also bands like Rage Against The Machine, Green Day and all the other bands that came out in the early ‘90s that had a lot of influence on me and my bandmates.

You have been a part of Sick Puppies for a decade now, as you said. What is your biggest creative milestone?

It is all about the songs. Being able to put out a song that does well on radio and impacts the fans is a big part of it. The fan response has been kind of overwhelming. We really listen to our fans and really try to incorporate their input, suggestions and comments into what we do. At the end of the day, they are the ones who are listening to what we have to say. We definitely turn to them for inspiration!

sick-puppies-2016-2

From the outside looking in, Sick Puppies has gone through quite a bit in the past year-and-a-half with the departure of a band member. Was there a point where you felt the band might not carry on and how important was it for you to keep the momentum going?

There was definitely a time when it was a little bit scary but there was never a moment where me and Emma [Anzai] didn’t want to keep the band going. That is the one thing we both knew we wanted to do. Things can be unfortunate and things do happen but we definitely knew we wanted to carry on. At that point it was just a matter of finding the right person. We definitely found the right person in Bryan! From that moment, we knew we would go on, we did, we are working again and it is going great! We knew it had to be right. We didn’t want to rush anything. Something like that is a big change and we didn’t want to come out with anything mediocre or too soon and miss out on other opportunities. We took our time, found the right guy and wrote a great album with him. Now we are touring! The response from our fans has been kind of overwhelming. The overall feeling is that we haven’t skipped a beat and we picked up right where we left off. Being on this tour now and really seeing it first hand has been pretty awesome!

How did you guys first cross paths with Bryan and what does he bring to the table creatively?

It was a big challenge to replace the lead singer/guitarist. We knew it had to be the right fit but they would also have to bring a new flavor that we think is better. We are little biased being in the band but whatever! [laughs] That was the main goal and it was a challenge for sure, especially in a three-piece band. Bryan reached out to Emma on Facebook. He sent a video of a song and we instantly loved his voice. He is an awesome guitar player as well. We sent over a couple of our songs and he performed those. They were great, so he was on the plane to LA the next day. We started jamming from there! He got the old stuff down amazingly fast. He learned 20 songs in two weeks! We started writing new material from there. It was just what we needed. With our last album, it was called “Connect,” but Emma and I don’t feel we quite connected song-wise. We really struck a chord right away with Bryan when it came to writing, which led to him producing our album as well. Our first single, “Stick To Your Guns,” after we wrote that we knew we had hit the mark. We knew we were writing really good stuff. We knew after we wrote that song that it was the direction we were going. We definitely wanted to make a harder edged, harder rock album, which is what our fans always wanted and we didn’t really deliver on the last one. Like I said, Bryan is an awesome songwriter and brings a lot to the table in that respect. Looking back on it, it has been quite a year! I think we definitely hit the mark with this album and we are stoked for that!

sick-puppies-2016-3

You had the opportunity to live with these new songs for awhile now. Which of them resonates with you the most?

The first single, “Stick To Your Guns,” is one we have been playing live and it goes over really well. It is getting a lot of attention at radio and it is going really well. We play the song “Black and Blue” live. It is the first track on the album and probably the hardest track on the album. It’s been getting a great response and Bryan gets the mosh pit going, so that is always good! [laughs] We have also been playing “Let Me Live,” which could possibly be a single in the future. For me, all of those songs are a lot of fun to play live! We are also playing all the old songs. We are currently on a headlining tour so we are playing longer sets, like an hour-and-a-half, so it is almost 20 songs a night. We are playing all the old ones and a few new ones. It’s going really well!

You spend a lot of time on the road. Is there a secret to surviving that lifestyle?

No! [laughs] With us, a three-piece band, it is a little easier to navigate. We have a really good crew and team of people that we work with, who have been with us for a really long time. You just have to find a balance with each other but it is a very routine, “Groundhog Day,” sort of lifestyle! [laughs] As long as you stay in the groove, it’s not too hard! We are playing music every day, so it is not all that bad!

How have you most evolved since starting?

I think it comes down to playing more consistent shows. You definitely get your chops up when you play every night! With the new songs, the addition of Bryan and the new songs, that has really inspired us. There is definitely a really good vibe moving forward.

What is the best way we can support the band as fans at this point in your career?

It has always been about the live shows. In this day and age, a lot fewer people buy music, so I think the best way to support any band is to see them live. That is what it all comes down to! We are definitely out here saying, “Here we are! We are back and better than ever!” I guess we want our fans to see that! So far, that is exactly what has been happening, so it has been great! Right now, we are really focused on this album, which comes out on May 20th. We are booking shows for the summer and it looks like we will be playing all the big festivals, which we are stoked about. We just got the final cut of the video for “Stick To Your Guns” and that will be out soon as well!

Thanks for your time today! We are stoked for the album and can’t wait to see you guys very soon!

Thank you very much! We appreciate your support! It means a lot!

Since bursting into the rock scene, headliners Sick Puppies have sold over 1 million records, including a Gold album certification for their breakout second full-length Tri-Polar which yielded 2million in single sales including the gold-certified “You’re Going Down” as well as rock smashes “Maybe”, “Riptide” and “Odd One.” Sick Puppies fourth album is due to be released this spring and features the single, “Stick To Your Guns”. Akron, Ohio’s Red Sun Rising proudly carries on the tradition of pure rock music with their full-length debut, Polyester Zeal (Razor & Tie). The band has been steadily climbing the rock radio charts since and was recently dubbed “New Artist of the Year” at the 2016 Radio Contraband Awards. Their debut single “The Otherside” topped the Active/Mainstream Rock radio charts, making them the only artist in 2015 whose debut single reached number one on the Rock chart. Their second single “Emotionless” is closing in on the Top 15 of Active Rock radio charts. Red Sun Rising is Mike Protich (vocals/guitar), Ryan Williams (guitar), Ricky Miller (bass/vocals), Dave McGarry (guitar/vocals) and Pat Gerasia (drums). The band started off playing local gigs and frequently performed all over the Midwest relying entirely on social media as well as word of mouth which allowed them to build a strong and dedicated fan-base. Though they released two albums independently in their early years, Red Sun Rising received critical success when they released their latest album Polyester Zeal via Razor & Tie in August 2015. Additionally, the band has shared the stage with GodsmackSeetherSevendustNothing MorePop EvilShinedownChevelle, and more. Stitched Up Heart forged their path in sheer passion and earned their keep in physicality and volume. Both on the road and in the studio, frontwoman Mixi and the Los Angeles-based quintet face 2016 and their forthcoming Another Century debut with brazen confidence.  “Finally Free” is the clarion call for the band’s day of reckoning. Recorded by producer Mitch Marlow and captured on video by director Ron Underwood (also known as the high-flying frontman for labelmates, 9ELECTRIC), “Finally Free” delivers on the promise hinted at on their self-released EP, Skeleton Key. Stitched Up Heart’s days of self-booked national van tours and Mixi being a Revolver “Hottest Chicks” mainstay was merely the beginning. Driven by a new level of sonic confidence and topped with the frontwoman’s soaring vocal verve, it’s the sound of a band unapologetically coming into its own. https://www.facebook.com/StitchedUpHeartRock.

HUDSON is a rock and roll band from Los Angeles that formed in the fall of 2013. The band’s dirty, bluesy, swagger-infused sound, shaped by childhood influences ranging from Led Zeppelin and Lynyrd Skynyrd, to Johnny Cash, Pink Floyd and Nirvana, is catching the attention of fans and critics alike–Huffington Post recently wrote that “HUDSON might just be the next legendary rock and roll band with the potential to change the world.”  Catch the video for their new single “Cast Out” off their sophomore EP on MTV Live or by visiting www.HUDSONtheband.com.

Regarding Smashing Satellites, Sal Costa fulfilled his dream of playing arenas in a rock band, but that band wasn’t his, so now he’s going full-force as lead singer, songwriter, co-producer and guitarist of Toronto’s alternative-rock band Smashing Satellites. The band — comprised of childhood friend/guitarist-keyboardist Mick Valentyne, drummer Mykey Thomas, and Vancouver guitarist-keyboardist Devon Laughed. “Coming from a straight up rock band, I wanted people to know that that wasn’t the only place where my heart lies,” says Sal. “Smashing Satellites is a quirky alternative rock band with a throwback to all the greats of many genres and eras that influenced me growing up. This is who I am and this is what I’m going to do in the future.” www.smashingsatellites.com

Brutus has been consecutively and overwhelmingly voted as Nationally Syndicated DJ of the Year as the programs’ host.

Sick Puppies Announce Bryan Scott As New Lead Singer/Guitarist

Sick Puppies Announce Bryan Scott As New Lead Singer/Guitarist

Sick-Puppies-banner-2016-1

Fans of Sick Puppies have been anxiously awaiting the next chapter in their story. Today, Loudwire has revealed that Houston-based singer-guitarist Bryan Scott has joined bassist Emma Anzai and drummer Mark Goodwin in the band, who parted ways with singer-guitarist Shim Moore in October 2014. In December, Sick Puppies offered a video teaser of a studio performance with their new vocalist, but carefully hid his identity. Scott previously played with Glass Intrepid and Dev Electric and briefly toured as vocalist for Atlantic Records rock act Emphatic in 2011.

“As soon as I found out about the lineup change, my gut feeling told me to reach out to Emma and Mark, and we clicked right away. I knew this was a shot that could change the course of my life so I flew out to L.A. to audition the next morning,” reveals Scott.

“Before we met Bryan in person, we knew he’d be a great fit. His audition of ‘Odd One’ and ‘You’re Going Down’ was on point and from there the music progressed naturally,” add Anzai and Goodwin.

You can get your first taste of new Sick Puppies music as a snippet of the song “Stick to Your Guns” plays in the introductory video teaser above. The song is expected to arrive in March with the album to follow later in the spring.

Sick Puppies have also begun booking shows, and have festival appearances lined up for the 98Rock Fest, Welcome to Rockville, Carolina Rebellion and Rock on the Range.

Screaming-at-demons-chad-smith-2015-1

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chickenfoot) will make a special appearance on two new Screaming At Demons singles “Our Time” and “All Of Me” (release date to be determined).

Chris Clemence, the bassist of Screaming At Demons, had previously performed with Chad at several shows and they became friends, so when he reached out to Chad and asked him to play on the new upcoming singles, Chad quickly agreed.

When describing what it was like to work with Chad Smith, Chris said “Chad is a legend and phenomenal powerhouse of a drummer. We are beyond honored to have him play on our two new upcoming singles. His feel and groove have brought our songs to a new level. We are so lucky to have him as well as an all star team working on our music.”

Screaming At Demons recently released their song “Rockstar” along with the powerful video behind it to the masses at a Red Carpet event on October 6th. Since the release the band has been gaining the attention of fans and press alike.

The band is in its early stages of recording their new record, which will be mixed by 5 time Grammy award winner Chris Lord-Alge. When asked about working with Screaming At Demons Lord-Alge stated, “A new level of excitement is coming from these boys and they are giving back to people in need and making music that instantly makes you wanna be a part of it!”.

Screaming At Demons Release Debut Single “Rockstar” In Support of Homeless Rock Stars Movement

Screaming At Demons Release Debut Single “Rockstar” In Support of Homeless Rock Stars Movement

screamingatdemons-feature-2015

For the first time in history, a groundbreaking homeless project and a powerful rock band have teamed up to change lives around the world.  Screaming at Demons have finally released their song “Rockstar” along with the powerful video in support of Homeless Rock Stars.

As Screaming at Demons members Shimon Moore and Chris Clemence revealed to us in a recent interview, the only way to purchase the song “Rockstar” is to text “ROCKSTAR” to 91999 and donate to the Homeless Rockstars charity. Upon receiving your donation, Screaming At Demons will email “Rockstar” directly to your phone. If you are outside the U.S.A., please click the link below to make your donation and receive the song.

WHAT IS HOMELESS ROCK STARS?

Homeless Rock Stars is the brainchild of international rock photographer Nigel Skeet.  After 25 successful years of being a photographer in Los Angeles, Nigel moved to Redding, California to raise his young twin daughters.  When he opened his photography studio in downtown Redding, he was warned of the “homeless problem” in the area.  This statement struck him as “bullying the underdog” and he decided to do something about it.  Over the course of three days, Nigel Skeet photographed and interviewed 50 homeless people in his studio, just like he would a rock star.

The results of the event and the subsequent gallery exhibition were astounding, people were getting restored.  Homeless Rock Stars quickly attracted a lot of media attention and has been featured many times on the evening news, Good News Network and Huffington Post.

Nigel enlisted the help of his longtime friend Shimon Moore to write a theme song for the project.  Shimon enjoyed huge, international success as the lead singer and songwriter of the Australian rock band Sick Puppies and he was also the creator of the huge viral campaign, “Free Hugs.”

With his new band Screaming At Demons, with Chris Clemence (bass) and Russell Ali (guitar), they wrote the song “Rock Star” – but just the song was not enough, it needed a video.

On July 1st Shim traveled to Redding to participate in and film a Homeless Rock Stars Youth event, an event benefitting homeless kids.  The event was a huge success with over 70 members of the local community volunteering to interview and help restore the homeless.  Members of city council, business professionals and other community leaders all participated.

Shim also got to interview Jessie Valley.  Jessie was “one of the first 50” homeless to come through Nigel’s studio during the first event back in November.  Jessie is now part of the Homeless Rock Stars crew, she is in charge of catering.

The final result is a very powerful, six minute mini documentary and music video, “ROCKSTAR.”

Homeless Rock Stars is set to do homeless events all over the country in 2016, including events for homeless youth and veterans.

United Way of Northern California is the fiscal agent of Homeless Rock Stars.
