Pop Culture Icon Corey Feldman To Release Highly Anticipated Double Album, “Angelic 2 The Core,” On June 22nd!

On Wednesday, June 22nd Corey Feldman will release his album Angelic 2 The Core, which has been a decade in the making. The completely eco-friendly and biodegradable DOUBLE CD SET will be available on both physical, & digital platforms, including Amazon, CD Baby and some retail locations, which will soon be posted on Corey’s forthcoming interactive website WWW.ANGELIC2THECORE.COM, which is being built specifically for the album’s release and will be up soon. Angelic 2 The Core contains many Top 40 chart toppers on digital and independent radio, but with 22 songs, there’s plenty of brand new material! The above photo is an exclusive first look at the steaming hot album cover. The inside features a three page pull out of Corey, plus a sixteen page color booklet with all the lyrics, and exclusive behind the scenes pictures from the recording process at Feldmansion studios. The images were photographed by Maggie St Thomas with graphics by Luke Liblings. All graphic design and layout was created by Grammy award winning design artist Marc London.

The album contains a total of 22 songs featuring collaborations with five generations of Hip Hop artists such as Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit), Snoop Dogg, Doc Ice (Whodini/UTFO), Kurupt and up and coming rap artist Demario “SB.” Additionally, Corey has enlisted contributions from incredible recording artists, songwriters and musicians including but not limited to: Kaya Jones (Pussycat Dolls), R1ckone (Black Eyed Peas), Scott Page (Pink Floyd), B.Howard, POET (Black Eyed Peas), Dave Dunn (Infectous Grooves), The Wizards (Production team), Jon Carin (Pink Floyd), Manny Mijaris (EDM Producer), Thomas Van Musser (writer for Black Eyed Peas), Graham Ward (Paul McCartney), Glasses Boys (EDM collective), Michael Debarge (Debarge), Truth Movement, Tommy Daugherty (Death Row recording engineer), Angel Courtney Anne aka DJAC, and of course Corey’s Angels (backing vocalists). Angelic 2 The Core will also serve as a breakout launching pad for the “Corey’s Angel’s” brand, which helps beautiful young women realize their dreams.

Disc One: Angelic Funkadelic (2 Dance) is filled with recognizable hits such as “Duh,” “Everybody,” featuring Doc Ice, which climbed all the way to number 13 on Digital Radio. “Ascension Millennium,” which was released on MTV, became such a viral sensation, it was even mentioned on the hit show Glee.

Disc Two: Angelic Rockadelic (2 Rock) reveals Feldman’s edgier and more emotional sides as it includes “Remember 222” honoring Corey Haim, Feldman’s best friend and the other half of “The Two Corey’s.” “Remember 222” made it all the way to number 23 on Cashbox Radio Network and hit number 1 on internationally syndicated radio station Lucky Star Radio! This uplifting tribute features actual snippets from Corey Haim and their Lost Boys co-star Jamison Newlander.

Although arguably his most ambitious venture, Angelic 2 The Core is actually Corey’s third complete solo album, but the first to be produced under his independent label CiFi Records, which he founded in 2009. Music has always been Corey’s biggest passion and he has produced music for many of his films throughout the years. As this album spans a decade, it includes a few songs that were previously only available on soundtrack albums. These songs include “Negativity,” which appeared in Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star, and “Take a Stand, which appeared in Zero Dark Dirty, an independent comedy released last year. CiFi Records also released Corey’s Truth Movement album in 2009 and released digitally remastered versions of his early solo work in 2014.

Angelic 2 The Core has truly been a labor of love for Corey. One of its many personal charms is that Corey recorded the album in his own home studio and played all of the instruments himself on some of the tracks showing that in addition to his skills as a singer/songwriter/producer, he is now adding multi-instrumentalist to his resume.

The best evidence of his instrumental work can be seen on “Ascension Millennium,” “Test 1,” and his heartfelt rendition of John Lennon’s “Working Class Hero.”

In regards to the scope of his upcoming album, Feldman states, “Angelic 2 the Core is my 1st ever double album. I’m excited for people to experience this musical journey. I feel it’s a rare album and there is truly something for everyone as the album covers all fields of the music spectrum: part Pop, part Rock, part EDM, part Hip Hop, and all soul.”

Snoop’s Wellness Retreat

Entertainment icon and entrepreneur, Snoop Dogg, has officially announced the details for his first annual Snoop’s Wellness Retreat taking place April 19 in Seattle at WaMu Theater and April 20 at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver. Snoop’s Wellness Retreat, where fans are invited to “Inhale. Exhale. Recharge,” was created to celebrate the legalization of the recreational use of cannabis in Washington and Denver. While Snoop’s Wellness Retreat will be anchored around a concert series by Snoop Dogg and special guests Wiz Khalifa, YG and more, fans will have the opportunity to experience the full retreat through brand partner integrations on-site as well as leading up to the actual events.

In conjunction with Snoop Dogg, Cashmere Agency, a Los Angeles based lifestyle-marketing agency, created and executed this landmark event around Snoop’s vision for the retreat. Cashmere Agency integrated event sponsors: Leafly, MMJ America, Songza and G-Pen to provide fans with a completely unique experience at the first annual Snoop’s Wellness Retreat. Snoop Dogg has been a vocal supporter of the legalization of marijuana throughout the years and alongside Cashmere Agency, has created another platform for brands and fans to celebrate the recent law changes to recreational and medicinal marijuana use.

“The Wellness Retreat is going to be a celebration of 4/20 and the great states who chose to legalize,” said Snoop Dogg. “We’re breaking new ground with this event and looking forward to giving my fans an experience like never before. Inhale. Exhale. Recharge. ”

“Snoop’s Wellness Retreat is going to be an amazing landmark event that brings Snoop’s fans together to celebrate the recent law changes,” said Ted Chung, Founder of Cashmere Agency. “Additionally, we are seeing a change across the country in how brands think about the marijuana market and wanted to create a platform for brands to intersect with an emerging consumer.”

Leafly, a leading source of information on cannabis strains and where to legally access them, has created the #MyLeaf social media contest, allowing fans the chance to become Leafly’s behind-the-scenes photographer at Snoop’s Wellness Retreat by showcasing creative support for the cannabis movement on social media and tagging @Leafly and #MyLeaf. The Grand Prize Winners – one in Denver and one in Seattle – will receive VIP press passes to capture behind-the-scenes footage of the event for Leafly, a $500 Visa card for travel costs, and personalized strain t-shirts with their favorite strain signed by Snoop.

MMJ America, the biggest cannabis dispensary group in Colorado is giving away three backstage meet and greets plus VIP tickets to Snoop’s 4/20 show at Red Rocks. Fans can enter on the MMJ America Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/MMJAmerica) and at any MMJ America location.

For the fans that are unable to attend the retreat, music app Songza has curated a special “4/20 Music Moments” inspired by Snoop Dogg that will be available for fans everywhere. Throughout the weekend, moments including “getting lifted with Snoop” and other stoner-centric playlists will be available. To compliment the 4/20 celebrations, Cashmere brought in Eat24, a food delivery app, as the official partner of the Songza 4/20 moments, offering themed “munchie” delivery to fans.

Leafly, MMJ America, G-Pen and Songza will all receive on site activations and be featured prominently throughout Snoop’s Wellness Retreat. Snoop’s Wellness Retreat is a collaboration between Snoop Dogg and Cashmere Agency, a digital lifestyle marketing company responsible for Snoop Dogg’s digital marketing strategy.

Wes Borland Speaks Out And Defends Limp Bizkit’s ‘Gold Cobra’

Wes Borland Speaks Out And Defends Limp Bizkit’s ‘Gold Cobra’

In a recent exchange between Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland and the music blog Antiquiet, Wes defended Gold Cobra, front man Fred Durst and all the negative criticism the band and album have been receiving. “There is no way in hell our band would ever have been successful without Fred as the singer. Period. He is an astonishing front man and performer.” Later on in the exchange Wes dishes on his reasoning behind rejoining the band, “There’s a chemistry that the five of us have that just works. I also feel more creative in this environment as well because it challenges me to be a better artist.” To view the complete transcript visit Antiquiet.

Gold Cobra is available everywhere June 28th and can be pre-ordered on iTunes.

Review: Limp Bizkit Strike Back With The Power of ‘Gold Cobra’

Review: Limp Bizkit Strike Back With The Power of ‘Gold Cobra’

Limp Bizkit burst onto the scene in the late 90s with a unique style and sound that quickly established them as one of the leaders of the emerging nu-metal scene. The band would experience a meteoric rise, develop a rabid fan base and tour the globe. As their mainstream popularity grew, it seemed that Limp Bizkit was an unstoppable force. Like so many bands before them, the band members would learn that with any amount of success comes growing pains. Limp Bizkit was no exception to this rule. Internal struggles in the band lead to the departure of guitarist Wes Borland, an unofficial hiatus and years of internet speculation about a possible reunion. During their time apart, each member would go on to experiment with new projects both in and out of the music industry. On February 11, 2009, the reunion rumors were confirmed as frontman Fred Durst and Wes Borland released a joint statement about the future of the band. It read: “We decided we were more disgusted and bored with the state of heavy popular music than we were with one another. Regardless of where our separate paths have taken us, we recognize there is a powerful and unique energy with this particular group of people we have not found anywhere else. This is why Limp Bizkit is back.” It was this moment that ushered in the ‘Gold Cobra’ era of Limp Bizkit.

My history with the band starts way back when they had just released their debut album, ‘Three Dollar Bill, Y’all$’. A friend had introduced to the album and I found myself blow away by it. The band’s overall sound and style were stark contrast to what was filling the airwaves at the time and provided a much needed break to that seemingly endless monotony. We went to as many LB shows as we could in our surrounding area as they always provided a ton of bang for your buck. Along the way I scored a signed Cassingle from Fred Durst (which is either still around here or was sold on the early days of eBay to finance our binge drinking/concert going experience) and we even served as an impromptu landing pad for Fred Durst as he dove from the balcony of Washington, DC’s legendary 930 Club. We found ourselves on the ground floor for the growing nu-metal movement which was pretty exciting at the time. As the month’s went on and the band’s popularity grew, we found ourselves just as captivated by their second release ‘Significant Other’. The band was clearly growing musically and charted a slew of hits with that album. We were in attendance as the band played in front of a worldwide audience at Woodstock ’99 and it seemed that the once obscure group with the strange name was now on the tongue of everyone in attendance. The band that people had given us shit about listening to was now bumping out of the speakers at every house party we rolled in on donning our Korn/Deftones/Limp Bizkit chique. We were on top of the world and thought we were pretty awesome (which is one of the many things we did in our misguided youth that I still stand behind — as we helped change the pop culture landscape in our own way, record to record, party to party, suburb to suburb!). It was cool to be part of that experience and I look back on that period with fond memories. It was shortly thereafter that the bottom started falling out on my dedication to the band. I am sure it was a combination of elements ranging from a broadening taste in metal, the overexposure of the band in the rock/pop media, the band’s internal struggles and two albums that just didn’t seem to capture the magic of the earlier work. Time marched on for us all.

I never strayed to far from the band. During those years away, we even were inspired enough to spawn our own music website to spread the word on the band’s that we loved. Our friends got married, had kids, relationships dissolved but I always kept on eye on the developments with Limp Bizkit along the way. It is safe to say that it was an interesting decade for all involved. So when I say the news that the band was going to reunite, I was very intrigued. In recent years, I had seen and spoke to Wes Borland about his side projects and the bad blood among the former band members. I had seen Fred Durst go from media icon to a much more low-key, focused and seemingly content artist in those years. Nu-metal was dead, just mentioned in every article and the sound of the scene had once again shifted. The question was “What would this all amount to?” I was quite pleased to find my answer.

‘Gold Cobra’ is a powerful blend of what made me a fan of the band in the first place. I suppose going into this album, my worst fear was that it would be more of the same but that is not the case for ‘Gold Cobra’. While it includes elements of the band’s signature sound and brings the excitement and energy of the first two albums, at no point does ‘Gold Cobra’ feel rehashed or like a serve as a reboot of a time long since past. The unique sound that Borland brings to the fold is once again present along with a renewed ferociousness in Durst’s voice and lyrics. While the frontman and guitarist may be the most high profile members of this outfit, you can’t overlook the contributions of bassist Sam Rivers, drummer John Otto and the scratching the legendary DJ Lethal. Throughout the album, each member of the band shines and they sound tighter than on any previous outing. Standout tracks on ‘Gold Cobra’ include the chugging, return to the scene anthem “Bring It Back,” the anger fueled, take no prisoners style of “Shark Attack” and “Douche Bag,” and the ethereal sounds of “Walking Away.”

They say every journey begins with a single step and when it comes to Limp Bizkit they have never been a band that is afraid to take leaps. The difference between the leap for ‘Gold Cobra’ and the last studio outing is that the band has landed sure-footedly with this effort and will hopefully keep this momentum going forward. The energy and musical artistry on the record will certainly remove any doubt that they are simply back for the paycheck or that they are simply phoning it in. No matter which era you might have joined the Limp Bizkit movement, there is certainly something for every fan on this album and it will deliver a few surprises along the way. If they proved anything to me with this release, it is that reunited and reenergized, the boys in Limp Bizkit once again take the world by storm and I for one am happy to have them back.

Put away any preconceived notions that you may have about the band and experience the power of ‘Gold Cobra’ for yourself when it hits the streets on June 28th, 2011.
