The celebration is set for June 4-7, 2015. It was just announced that Jeff Cohen, better known as Chunk, will be attending the event to share his memories from the set of

When not searching for Pirate Treasure, Jeff is an entertainment lawyer and co-founder of Beverly Hills based Cohen Gardner LLP which focuses on transactional representation for clients in the entertainment, media and technology verticals. As a part of the Goonies 25th Anniversary Celebration in 2010, Mayor Willis Van Dusen declared June 7 to be officially recognized as Goonies Day in Astoria, Oregon. This date is special to Astorians because it is the anniversary of the day the film was released into theaters in 1985. The Astoria-Warrenton Chamber encourages fans, both local and abroad, to celebrate the anniversary.

Next year is The Goonies 30th anniversary, and we’ll be celebrating in style. The cast came out for a riotous reunion in 2010 for the 25th anniversary, and we hope to have some of them out again. Start planning now for June 2015!

The Oregon Film Museum celebrates the art and legacy of films and film-making in the State of Oregon. Housed in the old Clatsop County Jail, known to Goonies fans as the scene of the opening jail break, the museum invites visitors to explore this and other films and the production behind making movies in Oregon. The Oregon Film Museum provides visitors the opportunity to make their own movie, with three green screen experiences, edit and have it sent to them by email. Open daily, year round. Located at 732 Duane Street in Astoria. Admission is $6 for adults and $2 for children.

Goonies Day 2014 is a joint effort of the Astoria Warrenton Chamber of Commerce and the Oregon Film Museum. We appreciate wide support from the community, including event sponsors: Astoria Scuba, Best Western Lincoln Inn, Cannery Pier Hotel & Spa and the Holiday Inn Express; and activity hosts.
