With the release of Paramount Pictures Star Trek franchise relaunch only a little more than a month away, the company is already preparing a sequel for blastoff. Variety reports that Paramount has hired Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof to write a screenplay for the second round for the new cast.
J.J. Abrams is once again onboard to produce the follow-up. It is not yet know whether Abrams will return to helm the picture.
