At the San Diego Comic Con, director Chris Weitz revealed that Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke has written a song for The Twilight Saga: New Moon.
“I selfishly want to put songs in by artists I love. And some the cast and crew also happen to love,” Weitz said. “I think [Bon Iver] is fantastic. He says he wrote it for the film, but who ever knows if it might just be something laying around in his cupboard.” Weitz said he’ll be listening to the Yorke track Friday (July 24) and said that “unless it’s sounds of him belching, I think I’ll put it in.”
Meanwhile, the director also confirmed that he is “hoping to get Kings Of Leon” to contribute to the soundtrack. The original “Twilight” soundtrack has sold more than 2.1 million copies to date.
‘New Moon’, the second film in in Stephenie Meyer’s blockbuster series, is currently slated for a November 20th, 2009 release.
