The recently escalating war of words between Eminem and Mariah Carey heated up on Thursday (July 30), when Eminem released a new freestyle diss aimed at Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon.
The battle between Eminem and Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon began with Em’s “Bagpipes From Baghdad.” Carey denies was targeted at Eminem, but it featured a character with a striking resemblance to Eminem — and seemed likely to be a parody of Slim Shady. Carey has also denied having a previous relationship with Eminem; Eminem has insisted there was one.
In the new diss track, titled “The Warning,” Eminem starts things off by saying: “Only reason I dissed you in the first place is because you denied seeing me. Now I’m pissed off.” The verbal beat down doesn’t end there and has to be heard to be fully appreciated. Eminem shows that the art of the dis track is clearly alive and well in hip hop.
