Mandalay Pictures has optioned the film rights Joe Hill‘s upcoming novel “Horns.” Joe Hill, for those who may not know, is the very talented son of Stephen King.
‘Horns’ is described as a love story driven by horror and vengeance that revolves around a 26-year-old man who wakes up one morning from a blackout hangover and finds horns sprouting out of his head. As the horns grow bigger by the day, the reason why seems to lie in the unsolved murder of his girlfriend.
The book is slated to be published by William Morrow in February of 2010.
Hill’s first novel, “Heart-Shaped Box,” was picked up by Warner Bros earlier in the year. For that project, Neil Jordan was attached to write and direct with Akiva Goldsman producing.
