Legendary rockers Bon Jovi are expected to play the kickoff concert next spring at the new $1.6 billion stadium that will serve as the home for the Giants and Jets.
An official familiar with the plans for the new stadium spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to make the announcement, reports the Associated Press.
The official announcement is expected Thursday and will be streamed in real time at www.BonJovi.com and will also be available as an embeddable video player below.
Bon Jovi opened the Prudential Center in Newark last year with 10 concerts. The band’s new album, The Circle, will be released next month. The group has sold more than 120 million albums and performed more than 2,600 concerts in over 50 countries for more than 34 million fans.
The November 10th, 2009 release of Bon Jovi’s new album, The Circle, provides a powerful reassertion of Bon Jovi’s commitment to the hard-hitting rock & roll that has been the band’s indelible signature since it began more than 26 years ago.
