The highly anticipated reboot of V is set to premiere on November 3rd, 2009 at 8/7c on ABC.
V is a “re-imagining” of the 1980s miniseries of the same name. It takes place in the none-too-distant future, when aliens rule humanity.
The show will air for four weeks before going on hiatus until March 2010. The series stars Elizabeth Mitchell, Morris Chestnut, Joel Gretsch, Lourdes Benedicto, Morena Baccarin and Scott Wolf.
The new V centers on a female Homeland Security agent, dealing with the arrival of a race of aliens.
Many fans of the original series wondered amongst themselves if it was to soon to reboot the now classic sci-fi series. In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, Morena Baccarin shed some light on why the story of ‘V’ is ready to be retold. “We’re all interested in life outside of Earth. We all have a fascination with what’s out there because we don’t really know. The storyline lends itself to explore a lot of things—like fear, and blind devotion and terrorism.” said Baccarin. Baccarin also opened up in the interview on her thoughts on what intrigues us about visitors from other worlds and what she brings to the role.
