Brittany Murphy, the 32 year-old actress best known for energetic roles in “Clueless,” “8 Mile” and “Sin City,” died at 10:04 a.m. PT on Sunday (December 20) in Los Angeles, a spokesperson for Cedars Sinai Hospital confirmed to MTV News.
The spokesperson would not provide further details, but TMZ.com reported that the actress went into full cardiac arrest and could not be revived.
TMZ.com also reports that the LAPD has concluded its preliminary investigation into the death of Brittany Murphy and sources tell us detectives have determined there is no evidence of foul play or other criminality.
A rep for the actress said in a statement released Sunday: “In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy.”
