Janet Jackson Announces High Energy North American Tour

Janet Jackson has announced the dates for the “Janet Jackson Number Ones, Up Close and Personal Tour”. The tour is slated to kick off at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, on March 4 and keep the singer on the road through a Las Vegas show on April 23, when she will wrap up a two-night stand at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

The songs Jackson performs on tour will be based on 35 global number one singles that are featured on the greatest hits album. In the press release announcing the tour, she also promises “something different” so no two shows will be the same.

“This tour is Janet more revealed, more intimate, and more personal than ever before,” reads the release announcing the gigs. “Don’t look for special effects. Just listen to and look at Janet, as you have never seen her before.”

Jackson also plans to meet with 20 young community leaders under the age of 20 in each city, during the tour. Those 20 leaders will get VIP passes to go backstage at the show, along with those who nominated them as leaders.

“There are many young people changing the world and I want them to be recognized during my tour,” Jackson said. “I want them to be my guest at my show and they will come backstage as I learn from them how young people are changing the world.”

This tour will be Jackson’s first tour since 2008’s “Rock Witchu Tour” in which suffered many postponements and canceled shows due to migraine-associated vertigo.
