L.A. Guns – the Tracii Guns version of L.A. Guns, that is – will record an acoustic live album at the Hotel Cafe in Hollywood, California, on February 19.
The album, to be called Acoustic Gypsy Live, will feature acoustic versions of the band’s hits as well as two new songs. Original L.A. Guns guitarist Mick Cripps will join the band on stage for some tracks.
Tracii Guns’ lineup of L.A. Guns features vocalist Jizzy Pearl (Love/Hate, RATT), who in addition to having a powerful hard rock voice is known for crucifying himself on the Hollywood sign in a promotional stunt. Pearl also sang on L.A. Guns’ 1999 album Shrinking Violet, following the breakup of Love/Hate earlier that year.
Another version of L.A. Guns, featuring original vocalist Phil Lewis, continues to tour, logging dozens of dates in 2010 and continuing into 2011.
