A legend that needs no introduction, Bill Cosby is coming to Comedy Central for his first television concert special in 30 years. Bill Cosby: Far From Finished will premiere on Saturday, November 23rd at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. An extended Blu-ray and DVD of the special will be released on November 26th by Comedy Central Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment. Featuring material not seen in the broadcast, the DVD/Blu-ray will also include an interview with Cosby conducted by director Robert Townsend, a behind-the-scenes featurette, and an inside look at the making of his song “Gangbusters.” A CD version of Bill Cosby: Far From Finished will also be released on November 26th by Comedy Central Records, with two bonus tracks titled “Bernadette” and “Otis” contributing to over 40 minutes of additional material.

Cosby performed the 90 minute special at the Cerritos Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles this past summer. As always, he crafts stories around topics that are familiar to most – relationships, marriage, and children – but that he addresses with his singular point of view and renowned and celebrated sense of humor. Leading up to the on-air premiere, the Comedy Central Stand-Up web site will feature preview clips from the special. A custom Comedy Central Stand-Up Facebook tab will also feature preview clips along with links to comedians influenced by Cosby, as will CC:Stand-Up iPad, iPhone and Xbox apps. Fans can tweet using the hashtag #FarFromFinished to join the social chatter around the special.

One of America’s most beloved comedians of all time, Cosby has captivated generations of fans with his comedy routines, iconic albums and best-selling books such as Fatherhood. His comedy transcends ages, genders and cultures. Cosby went around television’s racial obstacles with I Spy, becoming the first African American to costar on a weekly, dramatic television series while winning three consecutive Emmys. Cosby created and produced the Emmy Award winning cartoon series Fat Albert and The Cosby Kids. Perhaps Cosby’s greatest contribution to American entertainment and culture, though, is The Cosby Show, about a close-knit, upper middle income Black family. The show was in part an evolution of the routines from Bill Cosby Himself, which three decades after it originally aired is still considered one of the landmark comedy specials of all time. Cosby has also received the Kennedy Center Honors, the Presidential Medal of Freedom (America’s highest civilian honor), the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor and the Marian Anderson Award.

In addition, Cosby will be performing stand-up across the country on the Bill Cosby: Far From Finished Tour.
