Jeff Bridges & The Abiders Reveal Summer Concert Dates


Jeff Bridges & The Abiders are hitting the road this summer and have announced a dozen new concert dates including the band’s first east coast outing! Since the release of Bridges’ acclaimed self-titled album on Blue Note Records, the band has been performing live across the U.S. from clubs to theatres to the famed Stagecoach country music festival. These shows will be the band’s first live performances in many cities across the midwest and east coast.Tickets are on sale now and available through individual venue box offices and online atTicketmaster. Recently, it was announced that Bridges will co-host, alongside Sheryl Crow, and perform during the Austin City Limits upcoming all-star benefit concert, in honor of the music series’ 40th anniversary. The sold-out concert will take place at ACL’s home, ACL Live at The Moody Theater, and will be taped as part of a two-hour primetime special, Austin City Limits Celebrates 40 Years, airing Friday, October 3. Additional artists scheduled to perform include Bonnie Raitt, Gary Clark Jr., Alabama Shakes, Kris Kristofferson, T Bone Burnett, Robert Earl Keen, Doyle Bramhall II, Jimmie Vaughan,and more. The concert event will benefit Austin PBS station KLRU-TV.

An Oscar-winner for his portrayal of a grizzled former country music legend in the 2009 film Crazy Heart, actor, songwriter, and musician Jeff Bridges released his debut album Be Here Soon in 2000 and his self-titled major-label follow up on Blue Note Records in 2011. Produced by Bridges’ Crazy Heart collaborator, the Academy Award-winning, multiple-Grammy Award-winning songwriter, musician, and producer T Bone Burnett, the album was a culmination of their more than three decade personal, professional, and musical friendship (the two met in 1980 on the set of Heaven’s Gate). Bridges’ musical endeavors have led him to perform at Neil Young’s annual Bridge School Benefitconcert, the charity-single remake of We Are the World, with his band on the Today ShowTonight Show with Jay LenoAustin City LimitsLive with Regis & KellyThe Colbert Report, live sessions for Yahoo!SiriusXMAOL Music, and shows across the country. Currently, Bridges is writing and recording material for his untitled third studio album.

This summer Bridges will be seen in the upcoming sci-fi drama The Giver, based on the novel by Lois Lowry. Bridges plays the “Giver” in a futuristic, seemingly utopian society that gradually begins to fall apart when Jonas (Brenton Thwaites) is selected to inherit the position of “Receiver of Memory” and learn about war, pain, suffering, choice and differences in the “real” world. The film opens August 15.
