LA based rock group Charming Liars have returned with new music in the form of infectious new single, “Burn.” The band premiered the official video for the track on FUSE, which features each band member taking turns driving various partygoers, dancers, robbers, and others against the backdrop of Downtown Los Angeles at night. The fractured and frantic shots in the video mirror the often bizarre, often “unreal” nights of a rideshare driver, and as vocalist Charlie Cosser sings, “welcome back from the real world,” it all makes sense. Fans can watch the video below or purchase the track on iTunes.
Lead vocalist Charlie Cosser comments on the making of the video: “ It’s certainly one bizarre, gonzo music video that was incredibly fun to make. It was a rather spontaneous affair. One day we decided to make a video and instantly came up with the treatment with two awesome directors—Eric Ulbrich and Kylie Eaton. We wanted to do something that had a slightly throwback/kitsch feel that the song truly emanates, juxtaposed with the truly modern concept of ridesharing.”
Charming Liars have been hard at work putting the finishing touches on a new EP, which will be the follow up the last year’s “We Won’t Give Up.” The new EP figures to be another step in the sonic growth of the band, as made evident by the electric new single, “Burn,” which was produced by the band’s guitarist, Karnig Manoukian.
Along with releasing their 2nd EP, “We Won’t Give Up,” 2014 saw the band hit the road like never before, culminating with the band’s performance at Mexico’s Corona Capital Festival, which saw them share the stage with the likes of Jack White, HAIM, and MGMT. Charming Liars are Charlie Cosser (vocals), Karnig Manoukian (guitar), Mike Kruger (Bass), Nick Krein (guitar), and Zack Riel (Drums).
