The Wyldz, a heavy hitting three-piece rock band based in Austin, are premiering the new track “Let It Go” from their upcoming studio album release Interstellar Troubadours, due out this spring. Impacting at radio now, the band describes the track as “the most raw song on the album.” Fans can now listen to the track online and can catch the band on the road in the U.S. this spring and summer! The Wyldz confirmed tour itinerary is listed below with additional dates to be announced.
“During rehearsal one day we were jamming and found this riff,” says Oliv Porrini of “Let It Go.” “We thought it could be a good chorus and started working on the music right then rather than saving it as an idea for later.”
“We wrote the music in five minutes and the lyrics in two hours,” says Alex Dhée. “I remember the next afternoon, it was cold as hell, and we felt we just had to record it. It was the first song we recorded in the studio with Steve Albini and today, it’s the exact same song we perform without any changes.”
“When we decided to leave France for the U.S. to make music, we really had to ‘let go’ of our inhibitions and fears,” says Mitch Bassoul. “If we were thinking about all the obstacles we probably would have never had the courage to move forward. Sometimes you’re better off not over-thinking, following your instincts and the signs that life bring you.”
Earlier this year, The Wyldz collaborated with legendary engineer Steve Albini (Nirvana, The Pixies, Robert Plant and Jimmy Page) on their upcoming album Interstellar Troubadours. Convening in Albini’s famed Electrical Audio studio in Chicago, the trio recorded the entire 12-track album in just six days, completely analog, with additional mixing handled by Grammy-nominated engineer Mark Needham (The Airborne Toxic Event, Scott Weiland). The end result captures the warmth of the band’s live sound while showcasing their extraordinary alchemy.
The Wyldz are on the road now and will be bringing their distinctive brand of new-vintage rock n’ roll to new audiences throughout the U.S. this summer. View an exclusive behind-the-scenes video of the band in studio recording their new album Interstellar Troubadours.
From Austin, TX, by way of Paris, France, The Wyldz play a distinctive and engaging mix of rock & roll all their own. While drawing inspiration from some of the greatest musical artists of the 1960s and 70s, the band does so with a contemporary flair that feels utterly invigorating. The three musicians first met while studying at the college of contemporary music in Paris, L’École Atla. They had all played with one another in various outfits before uniting as The Wyldz in 2010 with the shared dream of creating a truly world-class rock and roll and the mutual determination to take their music to as many people as possible.
The Wyldz are Mitch Bassoul (vocals and bass), Alex Dhée (guitar), and Oliv Porrini (drums).
