‘Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men’ — A Deep Dive Into The History of Hip-Hop’s Most Legendary Group

It’s hard to come up with a hip-hop group that’s had a bigger impact on pop culture and the world than the legendary Wu-Tang Clan. Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men, a four-part limited docuseries from filmmaker and director Sacha Jenkins (Burn, M*therfucker, Burn), is a beautiful crafted work that takes us on a ride deep into the slums of Shaolin for a look at the unorthodox group’s origin, massive success and eclectic career paths of members RZA, GZA, Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, U-God, Cappadonna, Masta Killa and Inspectah Deck. ‘Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men‘ combines intimate and reflective interviews from each of the nine living members with never-before-seen archival footage and performances to provide a rough, rugged and raw look inside their world as they helped shape the sound of ’90s East Coast rap. Produced by Mass Appeal, ‘Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men’ transcends the music documentary genre by creating a new lane that merges music, socio-cultural commentary and intimate family portrait. Offering unique insight into the earliest days of the group almost three decades after they first began to create music together. It’s truly a must see for die-hard fans of the group and casual music fans alike.

The four-part series examining the cultural history of hip-hop’s most influential group will debut on SHOWTIME on Friday, May 10 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
