The Interrupters return after four years with a triumphant new single and accompanying video for “Warrior Spirit.”
Blending new wave influences with the band’s signature ska-punk sound, the track delivers a powerful message of resilience and determination. Vocalist Aimee Interrupter explains, “Everyone is usually fighting some kind of battle that no one else can see but within each of us lies a warrior spirit that begs us to find our own fearlessness.”
Driven by new wave synths, infectious rhythms, and an unmistakable ska influence, “Warrior Spirit” features an impressive lineup of collaborators. Guitarist Kevin Bivona shares, “This was a super fun collaboration with so many musicians we admire. We created this song with Tim Armstrong, Jesse Michaels, Travis Barker, and Brett Gurewitz. It was a big dance party in the studio every time this track played. It’s got that ska upbeat but we’re also tipping our hat to our favorite early 80s new wave bands.”
Formed in Los Angeles in 2011, The Interrupters have become a driving force in modern punk, ska, and alternative music. Fronted by Aimee Interrupter alongside brothers Kevin, Justin, and Jesse Bivona, the band achieved mainstream success with their 2018 breakout anthem “She’s Kerosene” from Fight The Good Fight, topping radio charts in the U.S. and Canada.
Their 2022 album, In The Wild, showcased a more personal side of the band while incorporating elements of punk rock, doo-wop, gospel, and dancehall. With a string of acclaimed releases, relentless touring, and electrifying live performances, The Interrupters have built a devoted global following.
The band will return to the road for an expansive 2027 North American tour, featuring more than 30 dates across the U.S. and Canada. Highlights include Brooklyn (April 4), Philadelphia (April 6), Montreal (April 9), and a hometown performance at Los Angeles’ Wiltern Theatre (April 30).
Joining them will be Doom Regulator, the project featuring Tim Armstrong and Jesse Michaels, making their first-ever live appearances.
