Heavy metal is alive and well in America and that is something that we can really get behind at Icon Vs. Icon! A new project, KOBRA KAI, has assembled to spread the word and breath new life into the metal of the ’80s.
The band consists of Matt Bachand and Jon Donais of Shadows Fall, Frank Aresti of Fates Warning, Mike Bartlett (ex-All That Remains), and Marc Lopes of Dark Day Sunday.
The mission is simple: ’80s metal covers done the way the way a metal show truly was back then — a party! The group says, “The way we see it, our time would usually consist of heading out to a bar, checking out a band and having many, many, many drinks… So why not get on stage and have a good time as well?! And you are not going to see the typical ’80s cover-band bullshit. Just kick-ass, drunken ’80s metal madness!
“A few rare opportunities have come to light and we thought we would share them with you. Come on down and rock out to some 80’s metal covers with us!
