THAT METAL SHOW: This Week’s Episode To Feature Taylor Momsen, Mark Tremonti And A Tribute To AJ Pero

Officially reaching the halfway point of filming all new episodes of the latest season of “That Metal Show,” VH1 Classic’s centerpiece in original programming returns this week with Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge/Tremonti returning to the show and Taylor Momsen of The Pretty Reckless making her TMS debut. In lieu of a “TMS Top 5” and the “Take It Or Leave It” segment, the hosts open the episode by bringing out Twisted Sister members Jay Jay French, Eddie Ojeda, and Mark Mendoza to pay tribute to their drummer, AJ Pero. Each member recounts a story about AJ and talks about the future of Twisted Sister in light of his recent passing.

The episode also features the return of Frank Hannon from Tesla as the guest musician who continues to showcase the talents that have made him a favorite on “That Metal Show.” Hannon plays a memorable version of “Amazing Grace” in tribute to the recently deceased AJ Pero.

The “Put It On The Table” segment offers insight into Mark and Taylor, Eddie regains his dominance during “Stump The Trunk”, and the “Throwdown” creates a Seattle civil war pitting Soundgarden against Pearl Jam. The hosts offer up their newest favorite reissues in the “Pick Of The Week” and Jim walks off with Eddie’s pick. This week’s “That After Show” talks about injuries while performing and the wear and tear of constantly performing live.

Fans can watch all previous episodes and other exclusive bonus clips at ThatMetalShow.VH1.com and on the new VH1 app as well as the new “That After Show” segment.

Season 14 will mark the return of some notable faces in hard rock/heavy metal and contain a large group of first timers as well. Some Season 14 guests will include “That Metal Show” alumni Chris Jericho, Kerry King of Slayer, Zakk Wylde, Kirk Hammett, Michael Schenker, Ace Frehley, and Frankie Banali of Quiet Riot. This season marks first-time appearances for Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins, Max Cavalera formerly of Sepultura and currently with Soulfly, Lzzy Hale of Halestorm, Mark Farner of Grand Funk Railroad, and Andy Biersack of Black Veil Brides.

Known for having the best musicians in music perform each week on “That Metal Show,” Season 14 continues the trend. TMS alums who will be making their TMS musical debuts will be Mike Orlando of Adrenaline Mob, and TMS favorite, the berserker, Zakk Wylde of Black Label Society. TMS first timers will be Rich Ward of Fozzy, Damon Johnson of Thin Lizzy/Black Star Riders, and Nita Strauss of Alice Cooper/The Iron Maidens. Season 14 of “That Metal Show” consists of 12 all-new episodes and is shot at Metropolis Studios in New York City on Tuesday nights for broadcast that Saturday. Audience tickets for upcoming tapings are now available via Gotham Casting at http://gothamcasting.com/gothamrsvp/.

“That Metal Show” first premiered on VH1 Classic in November 2008 and since has become the only place for all things hard rock and heavy metal on cable television. The show has been visited by some of the biggest names in the genres including members of Black Sabbath, Van Halen, Metallica, Aerosmith, Pantera, Kiss, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Pearl Jam, Guns N’ Roses, Queensrÿche, Heart, and many more.

“That Metal Show” is a production of VH1 Classic. Lee Rolontz, Jeff Baumgardner, and Keshia Williams serve as executive producers for VH1.

VH1 Classic brings you the best metal, rock, soul and pop from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s. The channel features the gods of rock – from Black Sabbath, Metallica, and Iron Maiden to Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, and Dire Straits – in marquee concerts and music specials, and of course, tons of classic music videos. Recent big events include “National Metal Day” (11.11) and “Metal Evolution”, an 11-part documentary series on the history of metal.  When it comes down to it – all music should go to 11.

Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider Launches Two New Websites

Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider Launches Two New Websites

Dee Snider

Legendary Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider has issued the following update:

“Fans of (my) early 2000’s morning talk radio show in Hartford, CT and Richmond, VA and of (my) Philadelphia night time radio show in 2005 and those who have been curious about (my) talk radio years will be please to discover DeeSniderRadio.com.

I was going through a closet in my studio and discovered literally hundreds of hours of recordings from my DSR morning show and an entire external hard drive filled with bits from by Philly night time show. So many fans have expressed to me how much they miss my shows, that I decided to create a free site for their listening pleasure.

DeeSniderRadio.com is extremely user friendly. You can either listen online – with no buffering issues whatsoever, or you can download shows as podcasts. Every week there are new shows posted. Whether you’re a Dee Snider Radio peep or just want to hear some great talk radio, be sure to check out DeeSniderRadio.com.

TakeBackTheHorns.com is a fun, yet serious site dedicated to the reclamation of “the metal horns”. Having noticed the rampant overuse and abuse of the horns by non-metalheads, (I have) decided to take it upon (myself) to rally the troops and shine a powerful light on this growing injustice.

TakeBackTheHorns.com not only explains the origin of the metal horns, but defines their proper use, shows “bad examples”, explaining in detail what’s wrong with each of them and there’s a killer “Metal Or Not” photo rating section where you can vote on the “metalness” of posted pictures and/or post your own to be rated.

Very addicting. True metalheads will love this fun, yet inspired site. Join (me) in (my) fight to Take Back The Horns.”
