A cult classic in every sense, “Heavy Metal Parking Lot” celebrates its 39th anniversary today! 🤘🏼🎸🔥

Directed by John Heyn and Jeff Krulik, this guerrilla-style rock doc captured the wild, unfiltered energy of 1980s heavy metal culture by turning its lens on fans tailgating outside a Judas Priest concert at the Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland, on May 31, 1986.

Packed with larger-than-life characters, denim, leather, booze, big hair, and pure metal attitude, it remains a legendary time capsule from a much simpler, louder era.
