A Perfect Circle Announce U.S. and European Fall Tours In Support of ‘Eat The Elephant’

A Perfect Circle Announce U.S. and European Fall Tours In Support of ‘Eat The Elephant’

A Perfect Circle, who performed on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last night, have announced Fall tours for both the U.S. and Europe.

The tour news arrives as the band celebrates the release of Eat The Elephant (https://AperfectCircle.lnk.to/EatTheElephantPR), A Perfect Circle’s first album in fourteen years and a release that was marked worldwide with the band gracing the covers of Revolver, Kerrang and Visionsmagazines. Rolling Stone said of the 12-track album, “Eat the Elephant is a moody, sensitive portrait of a band that decided to grow up and make a record that reflects where they are now as artists rather than trying to recapture the past” while The Atlantic described the collection as having a “well-honed sense of expansiveness, beauty, and rage.” The Maynard James Keenan and Billy Howerdel-helmed outfit spent release eve in Las Vegas, where the pair took fan’s questions via a Facebook live Q&A(https://www.facebook.com/aperfectcircle/videos/1758689510841271/).

Eat The Elephant was released on Friday on double 180-gram black version as well as an indie retail exclusive limited-edition white 180-gram version that sold out immediately. A new colorway, a double 180-gram clear blue/clear red vinyl edition will be released on July 6, with pre-orders available now via https://aperfectcircle.lnk.to/RedBlueVinylPR.

A Perfect Circle Release New Song “So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish”

A Perfect Circle Release New Song “So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish”

A Perfect Circle share new song “So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish” (https://aperfectcircle.lnk.to/FishAudioPR) as the release date for Eat The Elephant (April 20, BMG) nears. The song premiered last night on BBC Radio 1’s Rock Show as Daniel P. Carter’s Rockest Record and is available now to stream or download.

“We all cope with the absurd in our own manner,” said Maynard James Keenan in reference to the new track. “The Italian side of me produces and shares wine with friends in order to feel grounded and connected in the midst of all the madness. But once the wine is gone, the drunk and sarcastic Irish side of me goes straight for the unreasonable jugular. #comedyfirstandalways”

A Perfect Circle made their Coachella debut last night, playing several new songs including the aforementioned “So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish,” “Eat The Elephant” and “TalkTalk.” In contrast to the festival set, the band plays an intimate outing at Santa Barbara’s Arlington Theatre tomorrow night before returning to the desert for a second performance. On the eve of Eat The Elephant’s release (Thursday, April 19 at 7:15 pm pacific), Maynard James Keenan and Billy Howerdel, in partnership with Revolver, will answer fan’s questions in a rare Q&A (tune in via the band’s Facebook page – facebook.com/aperfectcircle). A Perfect Circle play “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Monday, April 23.

Revolver, who feature the band as their current cover story, proclaimed “Eat The Elephant is a call to action – in a world that sometimes seems doomed.” Rolling Stone said the 12-song collection “is a moody, sensitive portrait of a band that decided to grow up and make a record that reflects where they are now…,” while Kerrang dubbed the album “a future classic.”

Eat The Elephant pre-orders, which offer instant downloads of “So Long, And Thanks For All The Fish,” “TalkTalk” (https://AperfectCircle.lnk.to/TalkTalkVEVO), “Disillusioned” (https://AperfectCircle.lnk.to/DisillusionedVideoPR) and “The Doomed” (http://smarturl.it/TheDoomedVideo) are available now: https://AperfectCircle.lnk.to/EatTheElephantPR). The 12-song album is available in multiple formats including digital, CD, double gatefold 180-gram vinyl and a box set with both the vinyl and CD as well as a prism and custom playing card deck. In advance of Record Store Day, a limited-edition independent retail exclusive version of the LP on white 180-gram vinyl with alternate cover will also be available.

A Perfect Circle Release ‘Eat The Elephant’ On April 20th, Tracklist Revealed!

A Perfect Circle Release ‘Eat The Elephant’ On April 20th, Tracklist Revealed!

A Perfect Circle release Eat The Elephant, the band’s fourth full-length album and first since 2004’s eMOTIVe, on April 20 via BMG.

The album arrives following years of anticipation and speculation, which reached a fever pitch as the outfit helmed by Maynard James Keenan and Billy Howerdel launched their Fall 2017 tour with the release of “The Doomed” (http://smarturl.it/TheDoomedVideo). The band then ushered in the new year with the debut of the contemplative song, “Disillusioned” (http://smarturl.it/DisillusionedYT).

“Although I’m extremely excited to finally be completing this album after a 14-year hiatus,” explains Keenan. “I’m actually more excited that its intentional release date is serving a greater purpose. The 20thof April is Carina Round’s birthday. She is a dear friend who is extremely difficult to shop for. Pressure off. Of course, I must also note that the potheads are gonna be thrilled that this album comes out on 4-20. May it serve as a glorious soundtrack to accompany all of the giggling and vexing sounds of nibbling and snacking. Fingers crossed, Cheech & Chong will be proud.”

“Demos are these precious ideas that you love in their initial state,” adds Howerdel. “Then you collaborate, invite other ideas, and watch them progress. That’s the dynamics and growth of a great record. I feel we’ve made a great record.”

Pre-orders for the 12-song album, which was co-produced by Dave Sardy (Autolux, Slayer), are available now (https://AperfectCircle.lnk.to/EatTheElephantPR) and come with instant digital downloads of “TalkTalk” (http://smarturl.it/TalkTalkVEVO), “Disillusioned” and “The Doomed.” Eat The Elephant is being released in multiple formats including digital, CD, double gatefold 180-gram vinyl and a box set with vinyl, CD and hi-res digital download as well as a prism and custom playing card deck. In advance of Record Store Day, a limited-edition independent retail exclusive version of the LP on white 180-gram vinyl with alternate cover will also be available. A Perfect Circle Kicks Off 2018 With The Release of “Disillusioned”

A Perfect Circle Kicks Off 2018 With The Release of “Disillusioned”

A Perfect Circle welcomed 2018 with the release of “Disillusioned,” the second piece of new music from their forthcoming BMG debut. Listen to the song here: http://smarturl.it/DisillusionedYT.

“Disillusioned” stands in stark contrast to “The Doomed,” the first track the band previewed from the as-of-yet untitled album. Where “The Doomed” felt “apocalyptic” (Rolling Stone) and the track’s video (http://smarturl.it/TheDoomedVideo) was “eerie” and “intense” (Revolver), “Disillusioned” strikes a more optimistic tone, urging listeners to connect with each other once again.

“’The Doomed’ was a rude wake-up call… apologies if you were sleeping peacefully,” said Billy Howerdel of the tone of the bombastic song. “’Disillusioned’ comes from a place of overcoming the slide into the numb. It speaks to reconnection and a fresh start to a new year.”

Addressing the musicality of the song, which echoes the sentiment of unity, Maynard James Keenan said: “Attempting new approaches to composing can be intimidating. Especially with an established project with such a recognizable sound. But sometimes you just gotta take the first swing. Only way to grow.”

A limited edition,10-inch single for “The Doomed/Disillusioned” arrives on March 9. The collectible vinyl has a dual pressing of both songs on side A and a screen-printed B-side. Pre-orders are available now: http://smarturl.it/APC10.

A Perfect Circle has confirmed a trio of U.S. festival performances for this Spring: Las Rageous, Northern Invasion and Rock on the Range which will be followed by the band’s first European tour in close to fifteen years (dates below).

A Perfect Circle Debut Video For “The Doomed” From Forthcoming Album

A Perfect Circle, who recently released “The Doomed,” the first new music to be heard from the band’s expected 2018 album, return with an accompanying video for the “apocalyptic” (Rolling Stone) track: http://smarturl.it/TheDoomedVideo.

The video, which was directed by Jeremy Danger and Travis Shinn, arrives as the band is in the final two weeks of their North American tour. A Perfect Circle also recently announced their first European tour in fourteen years (dates below).

Upon arrival of “The Doomed” (http://smarturl.it/TheDoomedVevo), Maynard James Keenan said: “Fourteen years have passed since we released eMOTIVe. A new release is long overdue. In light of this current difficult and polarized social, spiritual and political climate, we artist types need to open our big mouths and share the light a little louder.”

“Years of life experience has brought our music to this moment,” offered Billy Howerdel. “We know where we came from. Deeply connected to the path we’re on.”

A Perfect Circle have signed a worldwide recording deal with BMG and are working with producer Dave Sardy on the follow-up to 2004’s eMOTIVe.

Governors Ball Music Festival Announces 2017 Artist Lineup

Governors Ball Music Festival Announces 2017 Artist Lineup

Founders Entertainment has announced the lineup for the 2017 Governors Ball Music Festival. The seventh annual edition of New York City’s very own homegrown fest will take place from Friday, June 2nd through Sunday, June 4th on beautiful Randall’s Island Park. Featuring performances from Tool (the band’s first NYC performance in 11 years will be a full-length set with complete tour production), Chance The Rapper, Phoenix, Childish Gambino (a rare live performance for the artist in 2017), Lorde, Flume, Wu-Tang Clan, Logic, Wiz Khalifa, Beach House, Air, The Avalanches, The Head And The Heart, Tove Lo, and many more, Governors Ball will play host to 65+ artists throughout the weekend. 3-day GA and VIP tickets (including payment plan options) are available starting Friday, January 6th at 12 noon EST via GovBall.com. Full festival lineup and poster below.

For full pricing breakdown including VIP packages and payment plan options visit: GovBall.com

This June, live music fans will experience the best Governors Ball yet, as the once upstart music festival celebrates its seventh consecutive year as New York City’s premiere live music event, and by acclamation, one of the top music festivals in North America. Governors Ball 2017 will feature redesigned VIP amenities and locations, a signature lineup of the best food NYC has to offer curated by The Infatuation, an expanded selection of craft beer options, and the lawn games, mini golf (two unique 18 hole courses), street art, After Dark concert series, and that “only in New York” concrete jungle vibe “Gov Ball” has become known and loved for. Another new addition to the Governors Ball 2017 festival site will be a 21+ oasis open to all 21+ ticket holders, where those in need of a respite from the action, and a refreshing beverage to go with it, can catch some shade while they recharge for the next set on their schedule. In addition to the newly added 21+ GA area, all VIP areas at Governors Ball 2017 will be 21+ as well.

Governors Ball will once again focus on giving back to the greater New York City community with the 2017 festival. Helmed by born and bred New Yorkers, Founders Entertainment will look to build upon their efforts surrounding last year’s festival. In 2016 Governors Ball generated $37.5 million in economic benefits for New york City, bringing the past three years cumulative total (2014-2016) to $125+ million dollars. The festival also continued its long track record of giving back to the community by working with and donating to local organizations, non-profits, and community groups. In addition to direct donations to organizations like the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City, Founders Entertainment encouraged festival goers to give back to the community by offering GA tickets to Governors Ball 2016 in exchange for volunteer hours at local non-for-profit food programs. Eighty volunteers completed approximately 25-27 hours each for various organizations including the Salvation Army, Food Bank for NYC, NY Common Pantry, Project Find, and the Randall’s Island Park Alliance to help reduce hunger and improve the lives of New Yorkers in need.

More information on Governors Ball’s economic impact and community engagement may be found here.

Founders Entertainment is once again honored to invite attendees to Governors Ball’s festival grounds at Randall’s Island Park (supported, maintained and programmed by the Randall’s Island Park Alliance www.randallsisland.org). In addition to being accessible by MTA bus, bike, cab, and ferry service from Mid-Town Manhattan to and from the festival grounds, the festival is accessible to pedestrians via the RFK Bridge, the 103rd street footbridge, and Bronx Randall’s Island Connector.

Maynard James Keenan Adds NY & DC Dates To Upcoming Book Tour

maynard-james-keenan-2016-1Maynard James Keenan, front man of A Perfect Circle, Puscifer and TOOL, has added two new dates to his previously announced book tour: Nov. 11 at The New York Society for Ethical Culture and Nov. 12 at the Sixth & I Historic Synagogue in Washington, D.C.

The special evening also includes Keenan reading passages from A Perfect Union of Contrary Things (Nov. 8, BackBeat Books) with a backdrop of never before seen photos and videos, as well as taking questions from the audience in what will be a rare moment of direct interaction between the elusive musician and the fans of his projects.

About A Perfect Union of Contrary Things

A Perfect Union of Contrary Things presents the outtakes, the scenes of disappointment and triumph, and the events that led Maynard James Keenan to take one step after the next, to change direction, to explore sometimes-surprising opportunities. Included throughout are passages in Keenan’s own words, often-humorous anecdotes that illuminate the narrative.  Commentary by his family members, friends, instructors, and industry colleagues rounds out the Sarah Jensen penned memoir with a foreword from American visionary artist and longtime Keenan friend, Alex Grey. The biography arrives on Nov. 8 via Backbeat Books, an imprint of Hal Leonard Performing Arts Publishing Group.

Maynard James Keenan Announces Dates For Upcoming Book Tour

maynard-james-keenan-2016-1Maynard James Keenan, front man of A Perfect Circle, Puscifer and TOOL, embarks on a book tour this fall to accompany the release of his authorized biography, A Perfect Union of Contrary Things, with the first two dates confirmed for Nov. 9 at Nashville’s City Winery and Nov. 16 at Thalia Hall in Chicago.

Keenan, who is known for not merely being protective about his personal life but at times pointedly cagey and misleading about his history, will participate in a moderated discussion about the book and his decision to share such intimate details about his life. The special evening also includes Keenan reading passages from A Perfect Union of Contrary Things with a backdrop of never before seen photos and videos, as well as taking questions from the audience in what will be a rare moment of direct interaction between the elusive musician and the fans of his projects.

Tickets for the Nashville and Chicago events are on-sale this Friday. Additional dates will be announced soon.
