Jason Charles Miller Releases New Music Video “Running”

Country rocker Jason Charles Miller has just dropped his new music video for “Running” today, starring Alexander Ward (Westworld, American Horror Story) and Vivid Vivka. Check out the video, directed by outlaw country artist Bob Wayne (Hank III, Shooter Jennings), HERE. The track is off of his most recent full-length album In The Wasteland out now via RED MUSIC/Sony Music.

“Bob and I were brainstorming one day about making a music video. I played him ‘Running’ and we knew this was the one he should direct,” states Jason Charles Miller. “I love Bob’s creativity and fearlessness when he makes videos. Rather than re-tell the story of the song, we thought putting vampires in a haunted house would make the whole thing a lot more interesting to watch. I mean: Vampires! Lore behind vampires says some of them are fallen angels anyway, so it still worked with the concept. Getting Vivka and Alexander to play our vampires was the best part, they did such an amazing job. Finding the right house was key, and luckily I found out about the Historic Harris House through my friend Robert Coshland (who happens to own it), and it turned out to be the perfect place! We didn’t have to do a thing, it looks like that all the time! I consider the house to be one of the stars of the video as well. I couldn’t be happier with how it came out and I can’t wait to share it.”

“When I wrote the song with Danny Worsnop (Asking Alexandria) and Blue Foley, we came up with the concept of a fallen angel who chose the devil’s side, but then changed his mind,” Miller adds about the track. “He realizes it’s too late to go back, but still tries anyway. A real heavy subject matter over a riff that’s almost surf rock in nature. There’s really no other song on the album like this, but the album would feel incomplete without it!”

In The Wasteland, which was mixed, mastered and produced by Grammy Award-winner Matt Hyde (Johny Lang, No Doubt, Deftones), is Jason Charles Miller’s first truly career-defining album. The album draws inspiration from a career that has spanned more than two decades and a dozen releases, and is colored by a catalog of musical textures drawing extensively from the worlds of rock, country and Americana. The trinity of styles – coupled with Miller’s experience as a songwriter, producer and performer, as well as a virtual who’s who of guest performances – culminates in 11 tracks that blur the lines between Southern Rock, classic country, and the outlaw attitude that has earmarked Miller’s career. The album includes impressive collaborations with ‘Cowboy’ Eddie Long, Dug Pinnick (King’s X), Duane Betts (son of Allman Brothers’ Dickey Betts), Peter Keys (Lyndrd Skynyrd), Brenda Lee Eager, and Adam Shoenfeld. In The Wasteland is more than just a record, it is the living and breathing embodiment of Jason Charles Miller.
