Christmas comes early for fans of darkly comic crime flicks as Clark Duke returns behind the camera with Stranglehold, his highly anticipated sophomore feature following 2020’s Arkansas. Described as a “Southern-fried siege” with shades of Dog Day Afternoon and Die Hard, the comedy thriller now has a wild new red band trailer showcasing Duke’s twisted holiday tale and its killer cast of Ashley Benson, Jake Lacy, Justin Long, Chandler Duke and Ron Perlman.

Synopsis: Obsessed with the glamorous influencers she follows on social media and fed up with her life of barely getting by, a small-town Arkansas stripper named Bailey (Ashley Benson) decides to rob the club she works at with the help of her ex-military husband, Tim (Jake Lacy), so they can give their infant daughter a decent Christmas and a better life.

About the Director:
Clark Duke is an actor, writer and director best known for “Clark and Michael,” “The Office,” SEX DRIVE, KICK-ASS and HOT TUB TIME MACHINE. Originally from Arkansas, Duke attended film school at Loyola Marymount University. His thesis film was the pilot for “Clark and Michael.”
Duke made his feature directorial debut with ARKANSAS, starring Vince Vaughn, Liam Hemsworth and John Malkovich. He also produced and co-wrote the film, an adaptation of John Brandon’s acclaimed novel.
STRANGLEHOLD is Duke’s sophomore feature as a writer, producer and director. His upcoming third feature is an adaptation of Jonathan Lethem’s novel YOU DON’T LOVE ME YET.
