Gilby Clarke Signs With Golden Robot Records, Will Release ‘The Gospel Truth’ In 2019!

Guitar icon Gilby Clarke signed a GLOBAL deal with Golden Robot Records which will see a brand new solo album – The Gospel Truth released this year. This will be Gilby’s first in over 15 years!

Mark Alexander-Erber, Golden Robot Entertainment Group Founder and President: says of signing Clarke; ‘I couldn’t be happier to sign such an incredible artist like Gilby Clarke to our GRR international roster. He is totally authentic through and through. He brings such a wealth of experience to his songwriting, playing and producing and I know the world is ready for his new solo album which is a long time coming.  It is an honour to release this record.’ Clarke explains his excitement about the signing  “I am so happy to be a part of the Golden Robot family for my new solo record. I use the word family because I feel like I found a home. We share the same passion for Rock n Roll! Rock N Roll is alive n’ well & together we will turn it up loud!”

Gilby recently did an interview with Gibson Guitars at the 2019 Namm show in Los Angeles where he discusses his upcoming album. Watch it here – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFnVXj5JyCg

Best known for his tenure in the mighty Guns N Roses, Gilby has a long and storied career of which, GNR is only a part.  Arriving in Hollywood as a 17 year old punk from Cleveland, Gilby soon found himself as a ghost writer and session player for former Runaway’s manager, Kim Fowley who then urged him to join the band, Candy.  Gilby proved a little too rough and ready for the polished power-poppers and found himself a home both with hard-rockers Kill For Thrills and as a songwriter for Virgin Records.

Then a late night call from Slash changed everything… Gilby joined Guns N Roses in late 1991, replacing the recently departed Izzy Stradlin. For the next 3 years, Gilby strapped in for the wildest ride of his life, playing stadiums the world over and appearing on Guns N Roses, Spaghetti Incident, Live Era ’88-’91 and The Greatest Hits albums.

After GNR’s mid 90’s implosion, Gilby, armed only with his Les Paul, went back to Virgin and launched his solo career. Receiving critical acclaim for his albums Pawnshop Guitars, The Hangover, Rubber, 99 Live and Swag, he began the new millennium touring with the likes of Nancy Sinatra, Heart, The MC5 and with his old band mate in Slash’s Snakepit.

In 2006, Gilby joined forces with Motley Crue’s Tommy Lee and former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted to form Rock Star Supernova. The band hosted the TV show of the same name in search of a singer and toured the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand in early 2007.

In 2012 Gilby reunited with his former GNR bandmates and performed with them as they were inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame.  That same year Gilby joined Kings of Chaos with ex GNR members Matt Sorum and Duff McKagan and an all-star rotating roster of icons that featured Steven Tyler, Joe Elliot, Nikki Sixx, Glen Hughes and many more.

Now in 2019, Gilby is preparing to unleash his first new solo music in nearly two decades! An old school mash-up of Keef, Johnny Thunders, and B.B. King, Gilby’s new album is full of fist-pumping rock ’n’ roll songs with fat choruses, bluesy licks and trademark solos!  It’s Classic rock, a new version of what Gilby likes to do and that’s… LOUD GUITARS!  The album features drumming from legendary John Mellencamp and Chickenfoot sticksman Kenny Aronoff and Stephen Perkins from Jane’s Addiction, Porno For Pyro & Infectious Grooves.  The Gospel Truth will be released in the first half of 2019. More details coming very soon!

Gilby joins fellow GNR band mate, Dizzy Reed who was one of the first international signings to Golden Robot Records and released his solo album, Rock N Roll Ain’t Easy to critical praise in early 2018.

Rock Legends KING’S X Set to Release First New Album in Over a Decade in 2019 Via Golden Robot Records

Rock Legends KING’S X Set to Release First New Album in Over a Decade in 2019 Via Golden Robot Records

Australia’s leading international independent record label, Golden Robot Records, continues to grow at an unprecedented pace. The label is absolutely thrilled to announce that globally revered, Billboard-charting rock icons KING’S X are now part of their ever-growing international roster. KING’S X recently signed a global deal with Golden Robot Records which will see their long-awaited forthcoming new album released worldwide in 2019 via Golden Robot Records’ partners in the U.S., Europe and Japan.

I’m really excited to release the next KING’S X album with Mark, Derek and the crew at Golden Robot! May the groove be with us all,” says vocalist/bassist dUg Pinnick. Guitarist Ty Tabor adds, “I’m looking forward to working with Golden Robot Records!

Drummer Jerry Gaskill adds, “It’s been a while since we’ve made a record. During that time, I’ve been thinking, when and if we make a new record, I want it to be the best we can do. I want to believe in it. I want to make it great, whatever it takes. I don’t want to just make another KING’S X record. I think and hope that we are in that place. I think and hope its time and I feel good about the team we’ll be working with at Golden Robot Records. I’m going do my best. Let’s do this thing.

When we started to talk to KING’S X about signing with Golden Robot in the U.S. and we met dUg in LA a few times, I knew 100% that we would end up working with them. I’m loving the fact they are still the original members and I really believe this new album will be there best yet! It’s incredible how many people inside the industry – and I’m talking about very well-known musicians – love these guys and can’t wait for a new album. We are all very excited indeed,” says Mark Alexander-Erber, Group Founder and President.

“I am delighted to finally be able to work with one the most respected, creative rock bands of the past 30+ years. KING’S X is not only a superb rock band with an ardent fan base, but are also a ‘musician musicians’ band. Golden Robot Records is determined to finally help KING’S X receive the worldwide recognition it fully deserves,” says Derek Shulman, Executive Chairman of Worldwide Expansion.

Since the release of their debut record, Out Of The Silent Planet, in 1988, KING’S Xreleased a dozen albums that have seen them rightfully earn their place on the rock royalty family tree. Fusing progressive metal, funk and soul grooves with vocal arrangements rooted in blues, gospel and even the British Invasion era influences, KING’S X created a style all their own which continues to be an inspiration for bands to this day.

Featuring vocalist and bassist Doug Pinnick, guitarist Ty Tabor and drummer Jerry Gaskill, KING’S X have never changed their line-up, a rarity in the music world and a testament to the band and musicians and friends.

Critically acclaimed from the start, KING’S X are musician’s musicians, name-dropped by everyone from Anthrax and Suicidal Tendencies to Iron Maiden and Blue Murder for their instrumental prowess. Pearl Jam’s bassist Jeff Ament even declared that “KING’S X invented grunge“. They also enjoyed a long life via the David Letterman Show with their track, “We Were Born To Be Loved” (from 1990’s Faith Hope Love), also a favorite of the Paul Shaffer’s CBS Orchestra to play during commercial breaks.

In 1992, KING’S X signed to Atlantic Records/Megaforce Records, released three albums and toured with bands as diverse as ScorpionsType O Negative and Pearl Jam. In the early 2000’s, KING’S X released three studio albums and their first official live album via Metal Blade Records. In 2005, the band signed to German-based progressive music specialty label, InsideOut Music, and released Ogre Tones, an album described as a return to the bands classic sound. KING’S X forged ahead with new albums, DVD’s and tours up until 2012, when drummer Jerry Gaskill suffered a major heart attack. The band then quickly compiled an exclusive live release from their archives entitled, Burning Down Boston. The proceeds of which went directly to assisting Gaskill with his medical expenses. They rolled on for two more years until Jerry suffered another heart attack, which resulted in him having a double bypass operation and ultimately led to the band taking an indefinite hiatus.

This break didn’t last long, as they were back on the road in mid-2015, shortly afterward announcing they would begin work on a new studio album. This would be the band’s first since 2008’s XV. KING’S X began meetings with Golden Robot Records management in Los Angeles in early 2017, eventually signing a global deal in October 2018.

While it’s been a decade since KING’S X have released a new record, the wait has definitely been worth it! Watch this space for news on the forthcoming album in the very near future.

ROCK ‘N ROLL AIN’T EASY: Legendary Guns N’ Roses keyboardist, Dizzy Reed, To Release Solo Album In February 2018!

ROCK ‘N ROLL AIN’T EASY: Legendary Guns N’ Roses keyboardist, Dizzy Reed, To Release Solo Album In February 2018!

Guns N’ Roses keyboardist, Dizzy Reed, has dropped the lead single, This Don’t Look Like Vegas, from his upcoming 2018 debut solo album, Rock ‘n Roll Ain’t Easy, out on digital, CD and purple vinyl through Golden Robot Records on February 16th, 2018.

Written by Dizzy Reed, Ricky Warwick (Thin Lizzy, The Almighty, Black Star Riders) and Del James, This Don’t Look Like Vegas, features Warwick and Mayuko Okai on guitar, with fellow Gunner, Richard Fortus (Guns N’ Roses, Psychelic Furs, Thin Lizzy), bringing the guitar solo.  Mike Dupke’s (W.A.S.P.) on drums, Mike Duda (W.A.S.P.) on bass, Reed on lead vocals, piano, shaker and tambourine, with backing vocals from Nadja Reed, Chela Johnson and Del James.

While initially undercut by prominent keys, This Don’t Look Like Vegas quickly settles into a swaggering slice of classic rock, led by big riffs and Reed’s own touchstone lyrics of dark shades, flexibly applicable gambling metaphors, shotgun weddings, fire, fury, brimstone etc. It’s all scenes of beautifully filthy bar band blues, the stuff of Sunset Strip nights, endless whiskey shots and a hedonistic heaven where, as Reed eloquently puts it, ‘nothing is certain.’
– Rolling Stone Australia

Rock ‘n Roll Ain’t Easy reunites Reed uniting with fellow members of Guns N’ Roses, along with some other greats, including players from W.A.S.P., Quiet Riot, Psychedelic Furs, Thin Lizzy, No Doubt, The Replacements, Queens of the Stone Age, and more for 12 scorching tracks.
